Fastest car? Top fuel dragster? Not even close- http://www.cnn.com/TECH/9709/25/land...cord/speed.mov
Kind of reminds you of Nathan's flyby, doesn't it?
And a 220 mph bike? Slooooooow, compared to this Peterbilt- http://www.pinn.net/airshow/shock.html

Wa_2_fast

no harm meant man. a 9 sec stang is a roolin machine, and you're right, it is fastest car. I shouldn't have said anything about bikes, just wanted to respond to your post.

Any way, no worries, didn't mean to start anything (only with extreme drivers)

Silver bolt,

yeah, 220 hp wil do close to what you're talking of. I'd love to hear about that bike when you get it up, but your F#@king nutz to be doing that !

Ciao'

Lamborghini Diablo VT
OMG!!!
The Porsche 911 Turbo came in close too.
Used to help a wholesaler pickup and deliver cars. He only dealt in exotics. Rode in a Countach, but didn't actually drive it. Talk about like sitting on plywood. OUCH.

We don't have good enough roads around here to test, but from what I experienced, WOW!!!!

I would love to drive either a Ferrari F50, Jaguar XJ220, or a McLaren F1 LM.

I could die a happy man.
My dream car is the 2001 BMW M5.

I'm sensing hostility toward me and I'm not sure why. Did I offend somebody? Look, I've ridden and owned motorcycles since 1970. Mostly 2 stroke Motocrossers, I admit - KX & KDX Kawasaki's. I've owned my current bike since 1986 - a Yamaha 650 Special. No, it's not a sportbike and it's slow - maybe 13's in the 1/4 mile - but I didn't buy this one for racing.

Did I say something wrong about bikes here? I love bikes and I know that the average sportbike can be successfully raced on the freeway by a fast street car. 600-750cc's especially. 900+cc's are trouble for just about every car at any speed, but the advantage isn't as great for a bike as the speed climbs.

Or maybe it's not the bike thing. Maybe it's because I don't own an L; I just sell them for a living. Is that where I wen't wrong? If that's the case, then I'm off this board never to return.

1974 Big Wheel. I don't know how fast...I guess it depends on how fast you could turn your legs.

'93 Acura NSX - Got to 130 in 3rd gear but caught up with traffic and had to slow down.
'92 Viper RT/10 - Pulled like a Ox but rattled like a POS. Brakes and handling sucked too.
Merc C36 - Real refined. Would have been faster if it wasn't so damn heavy.
'00 S2000 - Scream'n Demon! Too much fun!
Acura Integra Type R - Totally underestimated car. Surprisingly fast with very good handling.
'00 Silver Lightning - Can't say anything about this machine you guys and gals don't already know.
'93 Turbo Supra - Had 450+ hpr. Threw you back in the seat like taking off in an airplane. Wooooooaaah!

That's alot of fast speeds and I admit I've been fast before, but 175-210 mph on a motorcycle???? As an X paramedic I almost could not read that. There should be a XXX rating prior to that!!!

Spike, How do we get our hands on that engine?

After he put 30 hrs on the engine, he yanked it out and stored it. 25 years later, he bought a new frame for the Duece and started another project. I doubt the engine has been run more than 75 hours.

Went for a ride in a708 RWHP Supra couple of weeks ago, nasty. Rode a bike that would smoke the rear tire at sixty mph, same motor in a real drag chassis ran a 9.09 (this was in the 80s, when the GSXR1100 and 900 Ninja were kings).
152 mph on a Honda VFR1000R is my personal fastest on a bike. As a passenger at 172 (indicated on speedo) in a Cuda fastest I have been in a car.

Drove many super high dollar cars in and out of the shop I used to work at but never got to hammer on them, Hemi Cuda drag pack car. 59 Sebring and 58 Lemans winning Alfa is the most expensive car I ever drove around the shop, car was worth millions.

Gonna have to be an honest to goodness nine second 'stang to hang with the bikes from a roll. Launching a bike is the hardest part of going fast on a scoooter, once you are rolling things happen very, very fast on a bike. Bikes are much more rider sensitive than cars are driver sensitive. I have seen a rider knock 2 full seconds off the best time of a poor rider.

Thumbs up

If the GSX1000 is being tossed in, why not talk about the GSX1300R (Hayabusa).

Claimed 170rwhp. I don't think you can compare a bike to a car, and this GSX1300R shouldn't even be compared to some bikes
