Gotta say this or else my friend would kill me =)

Fastest car I've driven is my best friends 1987 Buick Grand National. He's got a couple mods on it, so it's an 11 second car, he hopes to have it in the 9's by graduation (2,3,4,10 years?). Those Grand nationals are sweet.

I am the driver of BIG RED! '99 S/C, 4.2, 5 spd, XLT, Bright Red Clearcoat, Medium Graphite, 5 Spoke 16" Cast Aluminum wheels, Lund bug shield, Limo tint, Pendaliner.

Holeshot... I never said _all_ bikes. I didn't say _all_ cars. Give me a break.

Nevertheless, I'm not shaking in awe over here.

A bike _should_ be faster...period. I'm not an idiot. And no the GSXR1000 will probably not take out "anything on this board".

While not as fast as Undy's '69 Vette, I'd certainly say my '90 LX with right at 600rwhp. Bikes are easily whipped from a roll.

Many people have no comprehension of what it is like to ride in a 9-sec capable vehicle.
On slicks, 0-60 is easily 2.5 seconds or so.

This is probably considered "quick" and not "fast" as the 1/4 mile ends and the race is over.

But, I have no real desire to try and go insane speeds on public highways. I have a wife and two kids, and they need their daddy to stay alive. How fast could a 3350lb car go with proper gearing and 600rwhp? I'll never find out, but even with the poor aerodynamics of a late model Mustang, it'd be WA 2 fast for me.

Actually, I can fathom a guess. About 8 months ago Motor Trend did a feature article on the twin-turbo Lingenfelter Vette. It made ~600rwhp I believe, and ran high-10s in the 1/4 mile with proper gearing for acceleration. Then it ran 206mph with tall gears. Obviously, the brick that the Mustang is wouldn't be able to top out that high, but I'd say 180 easily. Doesn't matter...I'll never see that.

OK folks .. I want to see every one of you at El Mirage Cal. or Bonneville Ut., Bikes or Cars. I will furnish dates and times. No B.S. I promoting Land Speed Racing. Silver-Bolt, I've only seen 155 on the front straight at Portland International. That was on a 1988 GSXR 750. As you know I'm looking for 170 with the Lightning at Bonneville this year.

Cool

fastest in terms of top-end would be driving my ZR-1.
It has been to 179-180 with more to go on several occasions...I guess thats why its still in my stable, I love the rush..
