Talking First run at the dragstrip with the L.

I went to Cecil County Dragway lastnight. There were about 5 gen2 and 4 gen1 Lightnings. I had descent MPH, but my ET's were high beacause I couldn't get traction with street tires. Anyway, here it goes:

1st run: 13.901 at 104.97
2nd run: 13.457 at 105.5

Slicks and blower pulley next.

------------------
99 Lightning, Bassani exhaust, JL Ram Air, Superchip(JL Programmed), Level 10 shift kit. No ET yet.
Sold- 98 Cobra. FM 2 Chamber, K&N, Steeda Triax, 4.10's, MAC offroad H. Best Cobra 1/4mile 13.8.
Sold- 96 Z28 ATI Procharged 13.5.

Eric: i was glad to see you and your dad at the track last night...sorry i couldn't spend a lot of time with ya you know how it is when your racing and your moving down the staging lanes..but good job! 105.5 mph! i know if the track was warmer and you hooked up better you would have been in the 12's with just th JL ram air and the JL superchip. i know alot of guys were impressed with how your lightning was running with just 2 mods! you need to get some sticky tires thats for sure! i went 12.40's all night with my street program and NO traction i'm convinced my truck will be running low low 12's with a wwarmer track and better traction. hope to see ya soon! What kind of rims and slicks do you recommend? I would like to just buy two rims for the rear with slicks, any suggestions?

99svtlightning,
There is a post futher down the list for 15" rims that are going to be made soon and I also know of a person that plans to run MT ET's on the 15" rims. MTT-3755 28.2x12.5x15

Your trap speeds are about right, now all you need to do is find some traction. My '00 Lightning with an R9 and JL ram air ran a 13.110@105.91 with a relatively poor 2.08 60ft at Cecil last fall. Weather conditions were about the same as last night. I also have the rear end lowered 2" and the boost solenoid disconnected, otherwise I'm stock right down to the air in the tires.
