1badtk,
My 2000L blew out the # 6 plug last week, stripping out the threads completely. Heck there was only 22587 miles on the truck when this happened.

What does it feel like when your driving down the road with a bad plug or coil.My truck today started losing power and when i give it throttle it shakes or vibrates alot during cruising or w.o.t.Could this be a plug problem.

Matt,
In July of 2000, mu truck had a symtom which the engine felt like a plug missfiring. I took the truck to a non-SVT dealer and left it with them so they could hook-up to the diagnostic computer. They found no thing or code that would be causing this stacato in chords performance. Heck, all of the cobras (I've owned with the 281cid) set off the MIL light instantly with any mis-fire.

Strangely enough, even though the engine miss in my Lightning quit a week or so later with no problem found, the MIL light never did come on or nail a code in the cux2.

I did notice a bit of a misfire the same day # 6 plug came out to see the sun!!!!

I got a chance to look at a set of lightning heads the other day. I bet there are not 5 threads holding onto the spark plug, the rest have been machined away.
I have no idea why it was engineered that way. It could be that way for ease of assembly or maybe to limit the amount of heat tranfered to the spark plug, I don't know. Dale
