Thumbs up JDM Chip installed---NO KNOCKING!!

Today is 1 year that I took delivery of my Lightning and I just received the JDM street program that I just ordered last week. On my test drive I experienced no knocking/pinging through any of the gears and no matter what rpm and throttle position. At cruise low rpm (1500 rpm) OD on, and then heavy or moderate throttle there was no knock where I expected it to be. I am extremely happy!
Well, the a$$ometer says this chip pulls extremely strong, but I am not one to talk about seat of the pants feel. Next Wednesday I will hit my local track and see what she runs. The best I was able to pull before with a different brand of chip was a 13.548 with numerous other runs of 13.6xx, and that was on a nice dry 50 degree night. I have my predictions as to what I will run, but we shall see next week.

By the way to those who are wondering what the big deal is to not have knock, we here in Phoenix run 92 octane, 10-15% MTBE fuel during this time of year and that is much different than the fuel others run in other States.

Thumbs up

Good news on the JDM chip! Can you e-mail me with the particulars? I'm wanting just a single street program, and have no idea how much they are. I'm thinking about bidding on Lschicago's R9 on e-bay, but if the JDM is not much more, I may hold out for that, and maybe the 90mm as well...

I hope to be at Speedworld Wed. I'll call Luke AFB and have them keep the F-15's and F-16's out of the area.... Them getting a flying start at the lights is just not fair!

The two "hot" chips right now are JDM and PSP. Go JDM if you want service after the sale and someone you can talk to on the phone. I'm happy with mine, and we run the same gas as Peter B. Hope this doesn't start another chip war.

WhiteLite,
I don't have your email, accidentally erased it from the other day. Shoot me an email tomorrow at: wijatyk@ftimeters.com

I'll give you all the details.

Yoda, I can download pics from the camera and send them. I've got a good digital camera, but the "video mode" is still kinda cheesy. Nothing like a real video camera.

Can't bring my truck down to Phx during the week- wife needs it for work. Besides, no point in bringing to race you guys til I hear back from JDM...
