Red face Lightning Or Not??!!??

Ok, I know I put an SVT F-150 badge on my 4x4 Lariat's tailgate, but this is going too far...

Lightning R
I would guess that the "R" stands for "Replica".

Nice truck though. I just wouldn't do this. If I wanted an L, I would just save my money and buy one.

For how much he's going to have to spend on modding his to change it over, he would be better off buying a used 99 or 00, or even a new 01 for that. a lightning motors 4000. the wheels and tire and interior got to be well over 5000 for all that. the sawy bars, exhaust, brake's......

there's allot of work there.

Red face

I agree with Killa and Tampa - it's cheaper to buy the real deal and the wannabe truck will give L performance a bad name.

That was exactly my point.

Kinda like sticking a Chevy 350 in a 1973 Trans Am. It just ain't right.

I live in okc and i see a 99 red xl stepside...with svt badging lightning ground effects grill and rims w/ the 2001 lights led brakeits a v6 5spd..he goes to school w/ my brother... a v6 lightning replica ..base model? he removed the plastic mirrors nad replaced them w/ celica mirrors at least but he has had to have spent at least 6000-7000 making his truck look like that which is stupid cuz lightnings go for about 29000 or so..so and im sure hes coming close to having spent well over 20000 probably closer to 25000 with everything i have seen on the truck why not go the extra mile and get the L? it would only be an extra 100 a month at most and if he can afford all those goodies im sure an extra 100 a month would be feasible for him..matter of fact he tried racing my 5.4 xlt cuz he thinks hes da **** but hey we are all laughing at these guys behind their back or in some cases WAY in front of their truck

Angry

I'm happy to see that the taste police are doing their jobs. Perhaps if we all signed a petition we could lobby congress to pass a law against this sort of thing. And what about the people who put Lamborghini replica bodies on VW chassis? Even if they are not thrown if jail they are definitely going to rot in Hell. And what about the reverse case? You pull up next to an innocent looking Ranger at the light, and when it turns green he smokes you 'cause he has a 700 h.p. twin turbo in it. Jeez, the nerve of some folks, modifying their vehicles in ways that we do not approve of.
