The wait was well worth it. I have been driving all day, so forgive me for the late post. :-)

I still don't like the rims. And the tail-lights are very un-American. It's like buying a Toyota or Nissan truck.
What do little Japanese guys named Hishocaranico know about pickups?

I didn't see them drill the bumper, but I sure took the dealer plates off in a hurry. Personal preference.

Cool

VERY NICE!!! I got to see a 2001 silver and white here @ a local dealer (since they are working on mine). I have not seen a 2001 black one in person yet. Cool truck, and by far the best color!

Thanks all. I added two pics with different views. I have the Ford tonneau cover, so mine came with ALL the options. :-)

Your comment pissed me off and I just want to dispell some misconceptions about the Japanese being "little". This is just two.

Naoya Ogawa
HOMETOWN Tokyo Japan
DOB 3/31/1968
WEIGHT 253 lbs.
HEIGHT '6"6
TITLES or AWARDS 1987 World Judo Championship Open-Weight Champion 1989 World Judo Championship Over95kg & Open-Weight Champion 1992 Barcelona Olympic Judo Over95kg-Weight Silver Medallist

personal quote is he'll fight any challenger, any time.

Satake Masaaki
HOMETOWN Osaka Japan
DOB 8/17/1965
WEIGHT 232 lbs.
HEIGHT '6"2
Titles or Awards K-1 GP Õ94 Finalist ISKA & UKF World Heavy Weight Champion K-1 Japan GP Õ97 & 98 Champion

a nice guy but not someone you want to talk smack to, if you know anything about K1 fighters.

These are big dudes and if they could get a Lightning in Japan I bet both would love them. Sataki because he's a good ole boy Jpn-style and Ogawa because well because he just likes to kick A@@.

Of course there are even bigger dudes like 300lbs 400lbs sumo guys but then you need the L to haul them around :P

Lastly, I thought clear corners were a EUROPEAN thing. But please don't make this board a race issue here.

Frans, the dealer put the bracket on my front bumper as well. The best looking license plate that I have found is to buy a plain stainless or chrome license plate and put a Lightning fender emblem on it. It really makes the license plate look alot better. I still think it would look better without the damn thing but once the holes are drilled you don't have many options!

Ahhhh.... But there is another option...

My dealer also drilled my bumper. I promptly removed the plate holder and plugged the holes.

This fix is very easy to do and looks almost as good as a non-drilled bumper. If you look in your front fender wells you'll see several round black plastic plugs that hold the liner in. These plugs are meant to be pushed onto a hole and hold tight. They also have a flat smooth head. Perfect for plugging the holes in your bumper. I drilled the holes out to 1/4 inch, painted the heads of the plugs to match my truck ( Red, the fastest color) and pushed them into the holes. PERFECT !

Oh yea, The plugs cost me 33 cents each from my local Ford dealership. Don't remember the P/N.

ptong-nobody is making it a racist topic except you. Get over it! Just because an American guy, possibly white, says ANYTHING about another person-BAM, he's a racist! That's f'in stupid! You sound like all the blacks in the south. A friend was making a knot to pull wire for a new machine, a black guy sees it and oh, MUST be a noose, thus its a racist symbol aimed at all the blacks in the plant so they want the guy fired. I mean ALL you non-white idiots need to grow up. Our lives DO NOT revolve around racism until remarks like these are made towards us. I see people as just people until I or someone else is called a racist. A comment is JUST A COMMENT. When it's a racist one you'll know because it will have your name attached followed by extreme, derogatory comments. And to vent a little more-ANYONE BORN IN THE U.S. IS AN AMERICAN!!!!! I don't care where your ancestors were born-africa, asia wherever. SO everyone drop all the -african, asian mexican-american names and leave it at AMERICAN!

Yes, nice truck!!. the correct color too. black makes the truck look muscular and full of pumptatude. the other colors are ok for "girlytrucks", but i'm sure Hans drives a black one too, right Frans
