Post 2001's are taking over.

I picked up a auto trader today and went directly to the ford truck section just to see and sure enough I counted 9 gen 2 lightnings for sale. It seems that most people have traded there 99's and 00's for the new 01' huh. The funny thing is that in every article they say "very very rare find" yeah, then you look down and hey there's another one. HAHAHAHA. I thought it was funny. how many of you guys on here went from a 99/00 to a 01 L? seems like allot.

Seems bizarre if that's the case, there's only a small number of changes, and those can be retrofitted to the 99 and 00's for very little outlay of funds...mine's just getting broken in anyway

Question

Seem alot of people have also been victims of their own impulse buys.

I know I've seen atleast 6 or 7 posts of Lightnings for sale where the reason was "I can't afford it now"... One would think that in a vehicle purchase such as this that they would work out their budget to make sure they can make their payments.

My 01 is 1-week old. If I had a 99 or 00 it would be 1 or 2 years old respectively plus the week. It just took me two years to figure out how cool this thing is!!!!

Well I worked to hard and I've waited to long to worry about 20 extra horsepower. Plus I'm not real keen on the looks of the 2001. I'll keep my 2000 and be proud. By the way did anybody ever take a 2001 to the track yet? I swore there was a post were someone was going to the track. Oh well. Thanks Mike

I wouldn't trade my 2000 for anything! Well, maybe a Ferrari 360 Modena but that's another subject. The 2001's IMHO took one step forward in the performance department and one step backward in the looks department. Not for me. Twinturboranger someone has been to the track. Cool

I agree with Twinturbo Ranger. Plus it's only one or two years old and there's so much you can do to enhance the already impressive performance & other stuff like different hoods, grills, bed lids and the list just goes on & on. Just my opinion.
