i thought the romeo heads were more desirable due to the cam tower "girdles" (not that really turn enough rpm's to really matter)

In theory, the cam girdles would make that area stronger, but that brings up the question of is it even needed. I've never heard of any issues in that area, especially on a motor that doesn't spin over 5600 rpms.

There's nothing wrong with using the Romeos, but he'll need different valve covers. Might be hard to add oil with the fill cap on the driver's side under the power steering bracket .

Sal, it was magnaflux'ed and everything checked out. They call that a "casting mark" and there are several of them on the block. Scared the sheat outta me, though ... You guys got GREAT eyes !!!

I am not trying to second guess Ken on any of this stuff, and that was not the idea behind me posting the pics. I have total faith in Modular Depot and they have always done a great job according to Beefcake and every other person I talked to. Sal, I know you're not slinging arrows either, but I wanted to get that on record. Remember we are building to a "roundy-roundy" car and not just a "straight-line" beast that only has to last 10 seconds at a time being beat on hard. So that's the design criteria that I gave Ken and Greg. They run AI cars so they know exactly what I want to end up with ... Reliable, long running iron.

Everyone's comments are appreciated. I can't wait ...

Cliff

Yeah, I am not slinging anything. Just making observations. Ken knows what he's doing.
