R rear-end Ques?

Had to put a new rear-end in my L. Ever since just does not feel the same (as quick). I have an 02. I think 99-00 had 3.55 gears, and the rest had 3.73 gears. Think i may have got an older rear-end with the 3.55's. How can I tell the year of the rear-end or gear ratio? Also how hard is it to change out the gears if needed? THX for any advise.

Jack up rear of truck and put in Neutral. Mark driveshaft and tire with marker. Turn tire 1 full revolution slowly while your buddy counts # of turns the driveshaft turns. If it driveshaft turns 3.5 times, you have a 3.55 gear etc.

HI!... Well if he bought a BRAND NEW rear end like he said in his 1ST post then it WILL have the TAG on the inspection cover. They don't remove those from the factory.........................
