Thumbs up JDM Chip and 90mm Install

I just installed the new calibrated JDM chip for the new 90mm mass-air,it pulls very hard on the top end and it shifts very aggressively at both shift points.I did notice a little more boost maybe a 1/2 to 1 pound more also.I believe this is the best setup for mass-air chip combo for our L's.

Cool

Thanks for the info.
I just got the new JDM street chip two weeks ago.I have the stock mass-air. I believe you had the same chip? As I am thinking of upgrading to the 90mm mass-air I find your comments interesting. Are you saying that you feel it was a worthwhile upgrade over the already very impresive JDM chip with the stock mass? Also what filter are you now using? Thank's for keeping us all informed on your continued L upgrade experiences.

Hilander,
I would reccommend this upgrade and get your new calibrated chip for it.I have no times to compare yet,but my *** o meter tells me that we will see a higher trap speeds in the 1/4.I am using the JL ram-air kit it bolts on perfectly.Have a good one!

Question

I’ve been watching the board as to which mods will work for me. I would like to do the intake mods with the chip all at once.
This is my thought: JDM Chip, Single blade TB, 90mm MAF sensor, K&N Cone air filter.
Can anyone tell me if I am heading the right direction or do you have a better suggestion?
The truck is driven daily, but I will be taking it to the track to establish some (hopefully respectable) track times.

Did some testing tonight with my new 90mm mass-air and the new JDM calibrated chip compared to the stock 80mm and chip i gained a consistant 1 full tenth each run and 1 mph over the stock 80mm and chip!I really like this setup and the price is right too!

Lemme get this straight ...

You're saying JDM has a chip program that allows you to retrofit a 2001 Mass-air on an older L? And that the 01 MAF just bolts on?

Nathan, the kit includes the rubber elbow that attaches to the TB. They also include the 4" filter adapter required for the 90mm MAF. So yes it does bolt on, you just need a filter with a 4" opening. I'm using a 5" opening on my filter, so I'm having another adapter made for mine. Kidover40, It sounds like you're headed down the same path that I am! Lloyd

Installed my 90mm MAF and the JDM chip calibrated for it today and I have to agree with HighRroller. A very Strong setup!! I have no data to support that other than the seat of the pants feel.
