Is this a 1/8 or 1/4 mile track? How far is it from Irvine?

Thanks!

Cool

Jeez, Brimstone, you need to learn to use MapQuest. Palmdale is about 105 miles from Irvine, but the track is a little closer. LACR is a 1/4 mile track, but the problem is its at 2600' elev. so the times are about 1/2 second slower than a sea level track.

Wink

Should we guess his ET's before he gets back and posts them?

I'll guess 14.20 (Tight engine with not many miles and crappy altitude & possibly sleeping on the green light )

Angry

Ok, as you can see by my little face thingy... I'm pissed. Had everybody ready to go and cheer me on and video tape, and got the report that it was snowing on the way up there, and the road was filled with 'black ice'. So I figured being new at driving the L, that I didn't want to risk an accident. Sorry everybody. I'll keep checking the track and the freeways for weather reports so I can SAFELY make it up there and back. But on a really good note, I whoooped on a BRAND NEW (with the dealers plates still on) shiny Prowler. He was right next to me....until the L downshifted... haha....but atleast he gave me the thumbs up after kicking his ****!! Went chasing a Cobra, but he didn't want none. Asked a guy in a SS Camaro for a race, and he looked at the Lightning badge, smiled, and kept driving. A so-so night, but I really wish I could make it up to the track.. Hopefully soon.

Sissy.

J/K. Very prudent, Marcus, I wondered about the driving conditions in this weather, I've driven those roads many times in the winter and I know how treacherous they can get. I wouldn't even try it at night. Sure wouldn't want to see you hurt your new baby. Hope we can meet there around April, after I get my new i/c.

Glad to hear that you didn't get to drive in that messy stuff. I use to haul gasoline to alot of stations up there years ago (Littlerock,Pearblossom,Palmdale,Lancaster,Mojave) . I have been in the nasty weather up there. The best part is that you'll get to put some more miles on her before you let her stretch out her legs there.

Reaction time doesn't affect ET.

Yes, I know this. I have been around drag strips and racing for a little while. I raced at OCIR before it was closed. I was at Riverside (Calif.) before it was torn down. Earlier in my life, I attended Irwindale,Fontana,Lions, before they were all closed.

My comment about sleeping at the tree was intended to mean not to be disappointed at the reaction times with a new vehicle (unfamiliar with launching, wheelspin etc.)

Now you can call me "Old Fart".
