Speedo,
I'm glad I'm not the only one breaking down. Not to laugh at someone's misfortune. Hope the tanks not full. It's not light empty. Are you going to upgrade the pumps?

Bad Dog,
I thought you were abducted by aliens. Have heard from you in a while. I hope to have the truck ready by April 1st but you know how that goes. Maybe you've been too busy building a trophy room to post. LOL

KGM,
After the motor quit at E-town. I pulled all the plugs and changed the 2 bad one. The plugs in the heads now are actually Spiro's he gave me to see if I just burnt plugs. After the new plugs were in the truck was missing through the drivers side exhaust pipe. Sal hooked up his STAR tester and found good spark and fuel on the drivers side bank but the oxygen sensors were going crazy on that side. We thought at the time I bent, chipped or burnt a valve. There was no antifreeze leaking or comeing out the exhaust and the cooling system wasn't over pressurized so we ruled out a head gasket. We never thought two cylinders would be firing each other and swapping compression. I've never seen a head gasket blow like that.

Saleen,
I'm pretty sure I had the warrenty completely voided by August of 99. Just so I could do my part to keeps Fords customer warrenty work numbers looking good and myself very broke.

Sorry for all the expensive repairs you've got ahead. How did you get the L back from E-Town; did you trailer queen it there and back. Did you ever sell your ZL600 Cat? I just had to rebuild the primary clutch cam bushings on my 2000 ZR440 Sno Pro along with replacing a few bent studs and the thumb warmer. Check this out. I had my clicker shocks rebuilt on the front skis and the two on the skid just before the season began at a Cat shop in New Baltimore. When I was blasting down a powerline trail, as I cam to a little jump to get some air, the left front shock shaft came unscrewed from the eyelet that mounts to the A-arm on the outside (clicker shocks mounted inverse from regular shocks). As the eyelet came off when I had the skis way up in the air during the jump, the spring shot down about 3 coils, hit the ground and bent at about a 75 degree angle allowing the shock shaft to go between the 3rd and 4th coil of the spring. It was IMPOSSIBLE to push the shaft back through the spring to reassemble the shock onto the sled. Fortunately, we had just left "The Bluffs" bar and grill in Black Lake and the owner was good enough to loan me a hammer and file to jimmy-rig the sled and get back to our hotel. This all happened about 1 1/2 hours before dark. I was routinely doing 70 + on those sweeping trials and God knows what would've happened if the suspension gave out going that fast on a turn. The owners moron son didn't tighten the eyelet onto the shock shaft well enough and it simply just came apart. You would think they would use Loc-tite on this kind of stuff. Nothing seemed damaged; but, I did give the Cat dealer a call about it.

Bob,

My L broke **** on the way back from Norwalk. I had to be towed (flatbed) to the dealer and they replaced it with OEM under warranty (I verified part numbers).

I would still pop the valves and check the valve seat. The debris had to go somewhere and you could have done some slight damage to the valve and seat.

Altitude has so much to do with making power. I'm at 2000 ft and if I were at more like a few hundred feet I would be in the 12's club for sure.

BadDog,
I have been trying to reach you buy e-mail....are you getting it? I would like to speak with you

Everyone, the problem with the pump was just a hose popping off on the first pump. Luckily the second was supplying enough for me to limp back to the shop. So in goes the new, and the old will be upgrded to HIGHRISK's request
