Unhappy Got the recall done today and it sure is UGLY!!!

I made my appointment today at my local Ford dealership to have the cruise control recall performed. It would have been quick, but I was having them check something else out while I was there. When I got it back I couldn't believe how ugly this thing is. Ford could have done a lot better with the appearance of this thing. I'm sure I'll be able to tuck it away somewhere and cover it in black loom and electrical tape. Check it out...

Can you just get the part from them and install it yourself? I should probebly get that done. I just dont want someone hacking up my L.

It's a whole lot prettier than a burned up truck / house / whatever else!

Nope. I was told that Ford has to actually perform the recall so they can document that it was done. Trust me, I tried that.

That seems to be a common response and is very true.

Wow, they did yours different than they did my truck today. I just got mine back from the dealer and I couldn't even see what they did until I saw yours. I just went to my truck and checked it out and they ran the wire down under everything and hooked it up out of site. I'd post a picture but my wife took the digital camera today to Marine World today. They could have ran it down below and made it a lot cleaner.

well they only pay .2 and that includes bringing the vehicle in, going to parts and getting the piece, installing the piece, driving the car back out, and documenting that you did it...

when you have to do a thing called make money you put the kit on and put the vehicle out. That's what my point is. Although I at least use my cutters and snip off the extra tie.

You can pick up the pieces yourself from the dealership... and do it yourself. Several members of HALO have done it. Parts were only around $15.

Instead of the POS fix..

Why not replace the defective brake line pressue switch
Install a neat in line fuse of very low amperage.

Done mine when I first heard about the problem a while back.
