I guess I would like to know about what mods you should avoid, unless your wanting to drag race, and are worried about tenths of a second...
If you just want a safe, all around power out of a stock bottom end...
before I go any further... I am cklepinger... I thought I needed a better screen name...
anyways....
stuff like... full headers and exhasut to me are a waste unless your trying to get 600 HP... and 2 tenths off your time slip. they gain you next to nothing on a stock machine.. and what they do gain you is not worth the 1000 bucks?
I am buying this week a whipple, 60 lb injectors, sct big air 2400, fuel pump upgrade gonna use that with a 4 lb lower...
now.. are things like upgraded fuel system needed... I mean fuel rails and steal lines? not fuel pumps and injectors...
are bigger heat exchangers NEEDED...?
again i remind you all that I am interested in stuff that is essential for a street "badass" machine... not a strip time slip...
obviously a tune is needed... but things like... widebands, fuel pressure... these are all nice to know things unless your a pro drag racer... its NICE to know these things but they just aren't needed... Thats if you have a good tune from a reliable tuner...
same thing goes for Stainless steal brake lines?
These are all questions..
We all know whats needed... CAI, Good Tune, Decent plugs and an upgraded pulley, but beyond that....
I leave it with this...
We always see what people "WANT" to make it faster, but the truth is 90% of us (L Community) (I am guessing at the 90%) only want to be fast on the street...
so if we want to make it the baddest *** machine on the street... What do we NOT need... Im not saying want.. I'm saying.. whats not needed?

The WBC and Fuel Pressure were a MUST for me. If you have FP issues, after the tune, via the pumps, filter or relays.....Well, you may lose the motor before you realize it. I lost a relay and only realized it after I saw the exhaust tips were white
...Pulled the plugs and all were white. I replaced the relay and fixed the problem. My point is that a short block is a bit more expensive to replace.

Add a k&n filter, add a hole on the air filter and route a force air kit in to it..
And leave it stock!!!!
Beat it, and it will be safe!!!!!! I did for the first two years.....
