I don't have a lightning but I've got an 03 SCREW. I had to remove my fog lights for my body lift. Out of all the foglights I've ever replaced, they have all worked the same way. Grab the back of the adapter where the light goes into and turn either clockwise or counter clockwise. I never had to unscrew anything. They work just like the headlight bulbs (again, I don't think lightnings would be different but they might be). Anyway, here's a picture of what it will look like once they are out. It was a relatively simple process on my truck. Hope this helps.

Hopefully, you didn't remove the whole fog light just to change the bulb. All you had to do was unplug the fog light, turn the connector(bulb) a 1/4 turn clockwise and it should pull right out. Also, don't touch the replacement bulb with your bare hands/fingers. If you do it will blow. You need rubber gloves when putting a new bulb in.
