My local Ford dealer has had a silver 2000 L on the lot since at least June (when I bought mine). After it sat for a few months they painted blue flames on it - and added $3500 to the price. I drove by the dealer tonight and the silver/flamed L is still there, plus two new 2000 Lightnings (red and black). Why would 2 new 2000 model trucks suddenly appear just as they 2001s are starting to show up at dealers? It strikes me as highly suspicious. Anybody here work at a Ford dealer and could provide some insight?

Maybe he got them from another dealer on a "dealer trade" or something like. There are two different SVT dealers here in Cincy that each have 1 White 2000 L left. I'm not sure about the dealer where I got my Cobra, but they usually sell all they get right away. They had a sweet looking Saleen S351 in their showroom when I bought my Cobra, I would've bought it instead of my Cobra, but I didn't like the color... LOL

 

The original destination/dealer is printed on the bottom left corner of the sticker. The bottom right corner has a number that I think is the "ship date" or "born on date"
I just bought my 2000 this week. I know of three L's that can be bought for about 28K.

No, they had them in the back lot.. I bought mine there and go into their back lot all the time.. They had those two trucks forever, and still refuse to move on the $4000>MSRP price.. Idiots..

The date in the lower right corner is the date when the computer kicked out the work order for it to be built. Nowhere on any of your paperwork is the "built on" date.
