Need Help - OT
Is there a way to read the diagnostic codes on a 1994 Ford Explorer? I'm getting a rough idle (surging), primarily when cold. Opened the hood and heard what appears to be a solonoid valve opening and leaking air (vacuum?). Idle surging when leak occurs, trys to shut off engine. Any ideas? The sound is coming from around the MAF. Maybe a leaking EGR? Thanks for the help.

Not with out a tester that can read the Ford PCM. It sounds like your (IAC-BPA) valve!
Idle Air Control Bypass Air Valve. It controls engine idle speed by bypassing air around the throttle plates.
