Talking Marcus, your truck is here

Well, the black one that you ordered, anyway. I watched them unload it this afternoon, along with a silver one. Neither of them are spoken for yet, so if you change your mind and decide to take if after all get in touch with Jan asap and he will reserve it for you.

Cool

Along with being impaitent, I'm also VERY fickle.. Heh..Thanks for the heads up George. I'm actually going to go look at a Black 01 right now with my friends..I'm going to see what the dealer will give for me car, and if I like what I hear, then he has a deal, he said he'd give me the same price that I have now (with the truck on order). If he sells it before, then I'll get in contact with Jan. Oh, btw, you have the pleasure of racing me once I pass that 500 mark (my break in period). Also, since I know you have a Swansons chip, does Danny need a 01 to run some tests?

Beats the ***** out of me, Marcus, you'll have to contact him yourself. As far as racing me I would be delighted, as soon as I get my intercooler fixed. I think we should caravan up to Famoso and go head to head. Of course by that time you'll probably have so many mods all I'll see are tail lights.
I almost lost my freakin' mind tonight, though. I'm sitting here medicating my cold with Stolie, and thinking why not trade my year old L. for the silver that came in today? I actually drove over to you know where, checkbook in hand, to look at the new ones. But Jan had gone home and the trucks were locked up in the service department. I was suddenly overwhelmed by a sudden unaccustomed flash of sanity, and I realized that with the mods I have on it now my truck is a lot faster than a stock '01. By the time I took the bath on the trade, and put the bucks into mods on the new truck, I'd have spent more than it would cost me to get that del Sol I want for a daily driver. But with me the line of sanity is an ephemeral proposition, who knows where I'll be tomorrow?

I concur Mr. Alphadoggy. I have been back and forth so many times it makes my head spin. I even have a white '01 on order. Then I went and peeled back the cover on my red '00 and said no way. Then I think, how about a red '01. I'm so confused.

The trade in offer from my dealer was kinda rude, however. Put it all back into perspective. Who knows? Maybe a For Sale add in the spring.

Stop it brain, or I'll poke you with this Q'Tip.

Stop it, What, I am convulsed with laughter, maybe because I did poke my brain with a Q-tip, once. Well, maybe not my brain, but I stuck a Q-tip in my ear and forgot about it. Later I slapped myself up alongside my head (I forget why, I'm always slapping myself up alongside my head), and I shoved the Q-tip through my ear drum. Ouch! I was relieved to hear from the doctor that eardrums heal. Except I don't think mine did, I am about as deaf as Mick Jagger by now. Maybe that's why I don't give a ***** that the L. has a mediocre sound system.
Anyway, what I think I know is that you are always going to take a bath on a trade. You're never going to get anything close to what you've paid for the mods. And if you try to sell it privately, you're not going to get your money out of it either, 'cause you'll have to deal with bastards like me who say, "I dunno, you've modified that vehicle, I'll bet you've just driven the crap out of it, but I'll give you half of blue book wholesale for it". So, I think I'll just hang onto mine for a while, until I hit the jackpot on my IPO
and then I'll think about a 2004. I hear they are supposed to be something special. Naw, it that happens, you'll see me behind the wheel of my new F-type.

Marcus,
I just thought i'd share this information with you. If u ordered that truck from Barber Ford, or a ford dealer in Ventura (I forget the name) they definitely have one on the lot. I called them right after i read this post and they said they had 1 black 2001 Lightning. The salesman i talked to sounded pretty amazed because i guess i was the fourth person to call about that car within the hour. He also went on to say that a customer was on his way to buy it, so the person who got there first would get it (as in first come first serve). He also said that he was sellin the car @ sticker price. So, i just thought i'd let you know what he said.

I was thinking about a '01 also but I say to myself 20 extra ponies ain't worth the bucks. I guess all these guys getting hyped about new truck delivery dates and going to get 'em reminds me of a year ago E-mailing Geo to find out where my truck is at, finding out it's come in, running down to get it.That was a pretty exciting time, guess I just wanted that rush again, but I don't think it could be like the first time. Think I'll just go out to the garage and take a nice long look at a still near perfect truck with some nice mods and wait for '02. Still not done with this one yet.

Cool

Its gettin' later, and I ain't gettin' any smarter. But, the dealer is Barber, and he will sell for MSRP. The person to see is Jan Harmonson, and if you are so gracious as to tell him I referred you, I think there's a bottle of Presidente in it for me. And when you come to pick it up, give me a call, I like to roll out the welcome wagon, maybe we can do lunch. My # is 805-647-8007.

Aw right, Bruins 85, University of Spoiled Children 76!!!!!!!

You are not alone I have a 01 on order but when I actually think a little bit it's better to save the money to make the 99 even faster and better looking.

Hey I'm back all. Just got back from down the street. Went and saw MY 01 BLack L. Well it's not mine yet. Just minor things to do. They appraised my car, and I got off clean, they are paying what I owe. Which is better than what I thought. So all that needs to be done is I need to have my Camaro written over to them, and then sign the papers for the truck. I have this huge thing on my face, something I haven't seen since my first time to Deja Vu'. Wait, wait, I think...yes, IT'S A SMILE!!!!!! Hah....so Ciione, don't tell ANYONE else about that Truck, I've called dibs on it!! Oh and Hye_Bolt, if it was in Ventura, I'm not too worried..like mentioned above, mine was in the San Fernando Valley area.

Good thing you nailed a black one, Marcus, 'cause I think the one at Barber is already gone. I am looking forward to a ride in your new truck, as long as you don't get as sideways as we did in mine.

I don't know if I can promise not doing any smoky burnouts, or doughnuts. I might scare a couple of years off your life, and get your hearing back from that Q-tip incident (which ironically happened to me, but mine happended during an earthquake)[Mental Note: DO NOT clean ears right before, and/or during an earthquake/aftershock!!]. Take it easy George, will be seeing you around. Maybe when I get the L, we can go do lunch. Then we could get Tom to come join us... Oh and I say take the plunge, and buy the 01, that way I know I can beat you, since the BLack L's are better and faster!!

P.S. I'm going to wait until 100 miles on my dash before I take it to Fomoso. (Read: I'm going to drive up there [which is 100 miles in itself], and give everybody what they've been wondering, TRACK NUMBERS!!)
