2000 Lightning Problems

People,

A local friend of mine has a 2000 L with the following mods:

NGK TR4's Spark Plugs
6lb Lower
Electric Fan
Traction Bars
Metco Idler setup
MAC Catback
PSP 2 bank Chip

I have worked on this truck many times over the years but he recently went from the 4lber to a 6lber and is having a weird problem.

When getting down on the truck it will CUT OFF completely at times. Some times it does not do it but it seems like over 4500rpms at times the truck will just die.

It has 30psi of fuel at idle and 50-55psi when giving it gas.

Its been awhile since I have really had any issues with a L but this one is driving me nuts....

ANY IDEAS???

If you think back Rich this problem was actually quite common on the early year Lightning's when tuning started to really make a differance. I wish I could remember WHY it happens (dam drugs @$^%@(&$)
But I clearly remember many people having the identical problem, especially at the track, (mostly because not too many can got WOT on the street from 0 to 120 or so)

You would always hear the same story too, truck runs great on the street I took it to the track and it cut out 3/4's down the track ???
I'm sure others remember it too, someone will hopefully remember WHY and post here...

Plugs

Why TR4's? Or did I read that right?
I would try TR6's or BR7EF's gapped to .035

Wow I didnt even catch that
That can be the prob right there, that plug DOES NOT under any circumstance belong in a L

If you go into NGK's Site and plug in info for a L it will tell you to use a 6

If you ask for a cross ref to denso IT-20's it'll tell you to use 6's
If you cross ref 22's it'll tell you to use 7's
If you cross ref 24's it'll tell you to use 8's

Why the hell would he have 4's in there, waaaaaaay too hot and prob dangerous, I'm surprised it runs at all

Rich those are 4cyl / 6cyl plugs

EDIT
no need to keep a 3 post Application chart
Everyone saw it

Does it cut off, like you have to cycle the key to restart? This was a problem on some trucks using our older Autologic chips, when they were multi-program. The switch harness acts like an antenna for FR noise and will freak the PCM out. Try cutting the harness off the chip (on the 2 wire side right where they are soldered to the 4 wires off the chip) and try to run the truck again. The chip will default to whatever is program 1 with no switch on it.

Sal! Hey man been trying to reach you...

This is Daniels chip he just got back from you last week. I tried to reach you on the messenger about it. You can just trun the key to start and it will start back up. You dont have to cut the truck off...
