Supercharger upgrade....

OK..

supporting mods are here.. not in yet becasue I do not want to tune until i get a sc...

I got the 60lbers... new fuel pumps, SCT2400 MAF..

now budget it minding here...

I am not hearing too many good things about the MP, but the KB I hear is good... and the whipple is just our of the question.. MAYBE.....

I want to be all stock lower end... I would like to hit 450-475 RWHP, and when she goes I will build it back to stock spec except for the rods... and maybe better 03-04 heads...

anyways... which S/C is the best bang for buck, and or.. the one that would put me over 500RWHP in the future?

I am assuming the rods are the weakest link....

so many choices, so little time.... and dinero.

Whipple will put you over the 500 mark easily with pulley swaps....
Im running a stock block with Whipple kit. Running 60lb injectors, dual 255 walbros, bigger MAF, Kooks longtubes, Magnaflow free flow, Bassanni catback, Xcal2 w/custom tune, and running 14lb boost... 509rwhp/570rwtq with 6lber, and 455rwhp/517rwtq with 4lber(street tune). 3.5 pulley upper pulley.

About 1700.00 for the Mag

I'f your willing to go 1.7K I'd consider going 2.5K and go for a Good Ole Fashion KB
Once in a while Johnny runs sales and you can get them even cheaper.

The KB is good to well over 600 HP and easy mid upper 10's, (maybe 9's with N20) Many have done what you ask and threw a KB on a stock block with the supporting Mods you already have and I agree with that set up 100% and still feel the ole KB is best bang for the buck

Jim doesnt have the Whipple pricing on line, I believe it to be @ 4.5 K for the Racer Kit

LFP sells the Non Racer Kit Whipple use to be 3942.49, currently on sale for 3649.99

In conclusion I dont think the Mag will fill your needs, I think the KB is proven as a consistant Killer 10sec L or a Kick A$$ 11sec Stock Block L, The Whipple Def looks better and it will out perform the KB, it's giving my truck multi 9's on Spray and took Gator to 10.2 off spray. It's all bout the Benjamin's....
HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO SPEND......

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISION AND WOO HOO!!!

the KB? where to get and how much is a good deal... does the KB bolt right up to an 01? or is there modifications involved?

is the KB ok with stock heat exchanger or is that something I need to upgrade too?

I would call JLP and talk to Sue or Erin, when I order my 2.6L I orderd it in the afternoon and it was at my doorstep the next morning

Yes it bolts right up, yes it's fine with the stock intercooler, no you dont need a bigger intercooler, what you want is a larger heat exchanger in the front grill (in time). And "for now" you can even use your current Upper Plenum (ask them about that you may need a special gasket). In time you will want the much much larger KB Upper Plenum and yes a Larger Heat Exchanger but for now the stock one's can take you waaaaaaaaaaaaaay past what your looking for.

For $500.00 I got a complete(with Rotor Packs) Magnum Powers Blower used with 5000 miles on it. I could not pass it up and Fast Freddy has gave me some things to do to get a max out of this blower. 20# is going to be the max I can run unless I upgrade the valve springs. Thinking of getting Magnum powers tools and doing the upgrade with the heads in the truck. Anyway the sound of the blower alone is worth the price!!!!! Rob you trader!!!!!!!!!! LOL I would have gone whipple or KB too but I think for the stock block the Magnum is the best option I'll find out as I spend more time with it.

Whipple with 6# lower and 3.35 upper making 519/599 on the stock block. Driven daily like this (Even in the cold weather.) for almost 1.5 years now with no problems. Blasts to 130+ mph and 45-50mph burnouts fairly regularly. I do have the BTS tranny behind it though. The stock unit didn't make it.
