Thumbs up JDM Chip

Just got the JDM chip and installed it tonight. Took it for a little test ride and it rocks. I am a very happy boy. Thanks Spiro

Wink

jstovall...this is my first chip, and last I hope. Being on this board for over a year I feel like I've used them all, and JDM seems to be the hot one right now. It's a whole new truck.

No, the programs aren't the same thing, but they (JL & JDM) have joined forces to produce this new JDM chip. I just sent JL's chip back to him to be re-burnt with the new program, which is referred to as the JDM chip. Supposedly there is a slight power increase with dramatically improved driveabilitly and shifting.

Correction - The JDM chip is not the same as the JL chip. Very minor differences but similar performance according to JL. Don't know what makes them different and JL wouldn't say. 1/30/01

For those that have this chip, do you experience pinging? What about this TB, does JDM need to change the program for that? And how many programs are offered with the flip chip?

I also heard that you guys can customize the rev limit, what is the rev limit used in the chip? Doesnt this motor have a resonance around 5700 rpms or something?

And last, how long does it take to switch out the chips, I might be doing a lot of towing, should I get this boat I am looking at.

The definition of a boat, is “a hole in the water you pour money into”.
Hummm…?? Doesn’t sound much different than an L.

KGM, Thanks for the connection.
