Swaping PCM ?

Has anyone changed their pcm to a later year? My CXN1 has developed a fault after 119,000 miles.

Yes you can do it with no prob, many have done it
Just talk to your tuner and make sure he's aware of what your doing so he can make you a new tune. I do belive you MUST use a tune once you change the yr of your PCM, (that I'm not 100% sure of, but assume you would).

Thanks Rob but don't you think the predator canned tune would adjust for the different pcm's seeing as it's the same predator model for all gen 2 L's?

i think you need to get the pats or paps code or something like that programed for the keys/alarm. You have to take it to a dealer unless your tuner has the tool. Power Surge Perf has it as Sal has done it 2 or 3 times for me.

I changed to a Harley PCM when my L one took a dump. I had to get the PATs system deactivated. Once that happens anyone can steal the truck....just a heads up. YOu may want to invest in an alarm system.(Viper/DEI)

I have changed. I fried my 01 computer by screwing around with the chip while the key was in it. It now has an 04 computer. I installed a new tune with the computer and the tuner made the adjustments on my Xcall II prior to starting the truck. I didnt have any problems and have used it for a year now with several tunes....I just have to remember to tell the tuner each time that I have a different computer.
