Question will the 01 i/c work on my 00?

I've lost about a half gallon of coolant over the last month. I guess it's my turn with 14,000 miles. If the new i/c works I'll do it. What else should I have changed with the i/c? I've never loved driving something this much. This leak is giving me thoughts of selling my L. I hope it can be fixed right.
