Now let's put our thinking hats on and see if we know why Ford chose red for there brochure? Could it be the fastest truck made deserves the fastest color, or does the Lightning look best in red? Maybe they just wanted a color and seeing white and black are not really colors at all red would just look, well like the perfect color. I'm sure they had very good reasons for red red red red red. Red Rules!

 

Well, Black then white are the fastest colors, the camera didn't catch 'em in time....

Also, it is easier to lend a red truck, since that is the most common...

Red looks nice & bright on glossy paper. Black needs sunlight, streetlights, or moonlight to standout. Something they can't print! Others have posted that the 01 looks best in black, but it won't show up good in a brochure. (the reason for printing red) Lloyd

What you put up is the spec sheet. I just stoped buy dealer and got one of them, and got the 12 page brochure(one big fold out in middle,of Red Lightning). My sales man had to go and open box for me to get. The brochure is like the ones for the 93-95 Lightnings. Still have the brochure for my 95 Lightning that I used to have. The brochure Talks about internal parts amd shows pics of motor piston/rod, blower cut away, and other little pics.

Dealer told me my start date has changed from 1/29/01, to 2/5/01, and should be here by late FEB.

I think the Red looks great!! I also believe that SVT will not build 7500 trucks. I also think Red will be the fastest and fewest color produced. But then I could just be full of BS. LOL

red 1994 lightning....oh my god i never expected this thing to keep running this long......130,000 miles and still running strong.........

00 white L...JL filter kit 2"drop shackles and more mods on the way....

 

Aside from the above brochure, I might be able to get a video of the L. Apparently this was a closed circuit broadcast of some sort that focused on the L (sorry, I haven't seen it yet). I could possibly MPEG it if people want.

Oh, and Even though it wasn't the first KNOWN color out of the factory, or onto this board, we all know which color is fastest, and that's the color they make more of EVERY year. And that's BLack!
