Question Boyd Coddington Rims....

Just wanted to get some opinions....

I think I might get these instead of chrome Lightning rims. They are a little more expensive, but they make a 18x9.5 so I'm seriously considering.

Not to discourage you but there are a few issues with aftermarket wheels on a lightning and in general

1. factory ones,or chrome ones do not need any maintaince. They are easy to clean with a sponge and no scrubbing or polishing ever.

Any aftermarket alloy wheels are constantly in need of polishing .I mean plan on spending a couple of hours a week depending on where you live.

Personally I think the factory 5 spoke belongs on the lightning and Keeps it looking like a factory hot rod instead of an aftermarket truck.(you know what i mean)

My factory wheels were chromed and I love em!! I know there are not that many chrome wheels that aftermarket makes that dont look like FWD,But chrome is SO SO much easier to maintain than any aluminum forged or not.

Spencer...Just my opinion but I would stay with the stock for resale purposes. I wanted new wheels for my ' 96 Vette but stayed with chrome Grand Sport wheels, GM only bigger. Put the car on the net and sold it to the third caller. Not everyone will have the same taste as yours, but if they are after a "L" they know what the wheels should look like. Chrome would just be a plus. The guy who widened BaBolts offers a 1" wider wheel for your rear if you want to run "big&littles". Of coarse if ya got the money buy whatever and store the stockers. Like I said this is just an opinion.
