If she did not know what to do in the situation, she was ignorant, sorry. Ignorant is not an insult; it means a person is simply uninformed. And YOU said she was not the "racing around" type, so that seems like a fair assessment. It was certainly not a personal slam on the girl.
Anyway, that's why I did not use the words "ignorant" and "stupid" interchangeably (at least not on purpose). When I let that guy drive my race car, that was STUPID, because I knew that he was IGNORANT of how to drive a car that does wheelies.
Most people are ignorant of the meaning of "ignorant." But it depends on what the definition of "is" is... LOL

As far as the hummer comment, I can ignore things like that. I can't ignore generalizations that apply to me. But if he says he didn't mean it as an insult, I believe him. I don't think any of you guys could offend me if you tried

I'm just curious why I'm getting nitpicked when I am FAR from the only person to be less than sympathetic to the situation.

Ya don't have to be a Tomboy to wanna race. But I personally take pride in it. I don't want dinner and a movie or a night at the ballet. Gimme street races and a sonic burger or a football game and a Budweiser. I don't do dresses.

Kristi - may I? I can't keep my control much longer!
First - I will admit I have never driven a Lightning. Would I like to? Hell yes! Would I ABUSE someone else's vehicle? Never! But, if I were given the opportunity to drive this vehicle & if I were in a place where "getting on it" wouldn't endanger the truck or the passenger's, I would have no qualms about seeing what a Lightning can do. I am not afraid to mash, stomp or otherwise get on it - too many years/miles of street racing in New York City has banished my fears! As for being a tomboy, I have to say the ONLY guys who have ever called me that were very insecure in their own ability behind the wheel or when wielding a ratchet! When a guy brings his carb to me to rebulid then I know I have achieved a certaim amount of respect in his eyes & I am taken seriously. Just for the record - I enjoy getting dressed up as much as any woman does but when I'm working on a vehicle or racing someone I am all business.
As for the hummer - I caught that as I know the other women here did. I chose not to respond to that since remarks like those should never be given much credence. It's meant to evoke responses & although I could post my own comebacks I would rather just ignore it. Not to put anyone down but I'm far more interested in the general post here than some rude remark. I have said this much to let you know it was not lost on me - it just wasn't worthy of an answer.
I would hope that the general put downs of women here are in jest & that the men here are enlightened enough to give respect to "us girls" who love our trucks & know more about them than many drivers do. While I do not own a Lightning YET I can still appreciate them as a formidable truck, one not to be taken lightly. Please don't take the women here lightly either. We're not here to prove a point beyond the fact that we are serious about our trucks too. It's not a "guy" thing anymore - it's a "Ford" thing now!

Any woman in a Nomex suit and heels is a hood ornament, not a racer A real female racer, no matter how girly she may be in her everyday life, is going to be too serious at the track to wear anything impractical like heels, hoochie boots, mini-skirts, or... I dunno... tube tops... LOL
I wish you people would stop making me laugh and want to post so I can get back to work!!!! LOL!

Kristi - tell you what. We'll get dressed in Nomex suits with heels (I usually wear 3" heels since I'm short) if THEY wear a tiger skin G string to race! Now if they can then walk around this way w/o feeling like total fools I say go for it! LOL!

It may not be practical at the track for a girl to wear stuff like heels, hoochie boots, mini-skirts, or... I dunno... tube tops... but it may be enough to have your competitor dazing at the line.... As for the thong thing, would Zebra stripped be acceptable? My Leopard ones got ruined in the wash. Have to wear something underneath though... those things have a tendancy to split up the twins. Not a problem, just when you split the twins they experience separation anxiety disorder which causes pain!
I love all girls, white ones, green ones, black ones, orange ones, big ones, little ones, tall ones and short ones. The only ones I don't get along with are the ones who have an L that is faster than mine!

Peace and love!

I have a long standing policy on not:

1. Loaning out expensive/specialized tools and/or equipment.
2. Allowing unqualified people around my C3 and high-powered firearms.
3. Allowing unqualified people to drive any of my vehicles.

This policy has worked very well so far.

Skyhawk, are you married? If not, the first 2 policies are good, the third might have to be tweaked a little depending on the situation and how horny you are!

Well, FordPlay, sorry to hear about your truck. I learned my lesson about loaning vehicles at a young age, with something less expensive (luckily). When I was 15 I had a Suzuki Intruder 1400. I just happened to be out of my mind and let someone ride it. Of course, they wrecked and totalled it, right in front of me. Boy, was I pissed, but not anywhere near as pissed as my dad was.

I'm no Tomboy either! I like wearing spike heels and low cut tops as well as tennis shoes and sweatshirts. All this bickering! I wouldn't even let Bill drive my truck either.
Also RTKILLA, quit playin with that thing before you go blind!
