Cool Got some new gear for the L

I'm getting ready to upgrade the trans lines that go to the cooler and filter with braided stainless steel lines. I'm also going to install a Nitrous Express kit. Here's some pics of what I have so far. If anyone needs part #'s for any of this stuff, let me know...

Stuff for the trans lines...

Stuff for the N2O install...

I'd be up for the parts on the braided trans lines.

I just figured I'd replace the rubber lines with something more durable. Plus they look pimp when you can see them through the grille.

I hope so. I'm going to try to take it to the track sometime this year. I really want a 10 second time slip. Hell, I'll probably frame it when I get one. I really love wrenching on my Lightning. I think I get more enjoyment out of installing all of these mods then I do when I see what kind of gains they give me. The only things I have left to do before I make a trip to the track is to buy some new 30" Hoosiers for the rear, shave my front and rear calipers to except the 15" Bogarts, and purchase a progressive controller for my N20 set-up. Then I'll be all set to go make one pass and get kicked off the track because I don't have a roll cage yet. But on the bright side, that'll give me a reason to give someone the truck for a few weeks to have a cage installed. I'll probably make the 10 hour journey and drop it off with JJ. The guy that he has do the cages for him does some outstanding work....

I don't mind at all.

When I replace just the filter I lose about a quart of fluid. That's easy enough. I just pour whatever I can get into the filter before I screw it on and then I dump the rest of the quart down the dip-stick. My level is always dead on when I do that. Since I'll be removing the lines also, this means that the cooler is going to drain all the fluid it's holding. My plan is to remove one of the lines from the cooler and catch whatever fluid comes out in a bottle of some sort. Then I'll remove the other line and catch any fluid that may come out of that side. I'll do this first, to keep the fluid from draining all over behind my bumper and second, to gauge how much fluid came out. That way I'll know how much I have to pour in over what I already have to pour in for the filter change. Probably about 2 1/2 quarts. I'm going to post a How-To when I do this in a couple days. I'll be sure I mention this in that thread...

I picked this up from my apartment office today. I guess the FedEx man didn't want to carry it up one flight of stairs...

It's probably going to be a while. This place doesn't allow me to take a lot of leave.
