got my cobrahood and..............
I am so pissed.I picked up my hood today only to find out, ther were 3 big gouges out of the fresh paint ,1 run, didnt paint snorkels black, and the color is off a bit....What should I do?
I dont want to let them touch it again but I dont want to be smoked out of the $250.
The hood definatley needs to be redone. You know it looks so much like a rush job!
I am madder than hell!!!!

Lightningquick-
I had my AAD hood painted and when I went to pick it up to have it installed they didn't put enough clear coat on it both inside and out.
I made them re-shoot the clear, now I have plenty. Don't be afraid to BITCH!!! That's the only way you will get things done to your satisfaction.
I painted my own grilles with high heat black spray paint.

another famous hood story...I got screwed on a "Mecham" hood on my 1998 Z28..the dad gum thang cost me 1400.00 and it was a POS...So I tell the body shop to pre fit it before painting...they bitch and moan..bitch and moan...they say it won't fit..they say it will fit..they call Dennis Mecham in Arizona...he schmoozes them....the drama unfolds....the body shop is blind..they paint it....they sand down too much of the sealer..the paint absorbs into the composite material....the paint pits badly...they say it is ready...i go to pick it up....they are loosing there ***....'cause they are dumb ***....and the story goes on and on...to take a long story short..the car was the ex 'hos...so I figure it is possessed anyway...so I sell it to the Lead installer of Nitrous Express..the factory in Wichita Falls...and he writes...who sold you that hood...I tellem'...forget it...don't screw with it....go buy the SLP Ultra Z...due to the fact that SLP manufactures the SS hood...and be happy!...he says..thanks alot...you can put aftermarket hoods where the sun don't shine...99 percent of them do not fit like factory...and thats a fact jack...i learned the hard way..
never again! never!!!!!
never again! never!!!!!
Well,I made an appointment to have another bodyshop fix it.I do not want to screw with these guys anymore. They knew it was a lightning, they knew I wanted a nice job,They knew I wanted it to match and they knew they were supposed to paint the snorkels black.as Far as i am concerned ,they KNEW they were expected to have the hood painted right,I made it clear in the begggining. They did not do it so They had their chance, they blew it.I am stoping payment on the check and offering them $75 for paint and materials. There is no need for them to make money when they screwed it up.I learned from previous problems that once they already get paid, some buisnesses are less worried about pleasing you any further. If I paid cash, they would probally tell me to go pi$$ in a bucket so that is what I will tell them while holding back the money. If they do not want to take my $75 for trying to resolve this, they can take me to court. There is not a court that will issue them a cent with the pics of the damage and a reciept that shows I had it redone.
