Post Young guys drive lightings to!!!!!!!

im 20 years old i am a tech at my local Ford dealer and am having a hard time understanding why when a young guy, kid pulls up in a nice car like my 00 lighting or 93 cobra that knowone wants to talk to them and assumes that its his "daddys car". This message is for all of you out there and i am sure that i have met a few of you at motorsport nationals modular shootouts, cecil county dragway ect. Why cant young guys get some respect to. I and other people i know work very long hard hours to have nice things and get #*it on but the older crowd. Johnny Lightning your are the exception your one of the most helpfull and kindest person i have ever met. For any one else next time you blow the "kid" off think about this give him/her a chance you might learn something

I don't know YOUR situation,so no offense, and I can only speak for myself here, but sometimes it is hard to acknowledge other (usually young) people's efforts to buy something nice like you have, and then find out they're living at home with mommy or daddy, having to pay nothing but a car payment and gas, MAYBE an insurance payment. I usually just think to myself, DAMN, I could be driving the frickin space shuttle if I didn't have to pay mortgage, home insurance, power, water/sewer, car insurance, TAXES, savings plans, health insurance, food, clothes, cable, phone.....
But, you might as well take it in stride, in 20 years, you'll be sitting at work thinking, DAMN, if my hair hadn't all fell out, and I could see past my cubicle without my glasses, and I could keep from farting when I stood up too fast, I'll bet that new gal at work would be dying to ride in my new truck.......

No one wanted to help the 17 year old kid when he went to go pick out his lightning. to bad they made 1500 over sticker on me.

Cool

I would like to go on record as stating that I have never farted because I stood up too fast.

I personally think it is cool if any young person works hard enough to be able to pay for their own Lightning regardless of whether they live at home or not. That would have been beyond my wildest dreams when I was 20 or so. Keep on truckin young uns.

Exclamation

My comments earlier seemed to mislead some people in here of what i was trying to say .
Yes i had some bad experiences with people of older age and i ask not that you acknowledge the fact that i worked hard and bought my truck with my money and not my dads but that just to acknowledge my excistence. Getting totally blown off by people time after time for no other reason then they think your some young punk kid is just plain stupid. Lightstruck made a good point when he listed off all his monthy bills, but that does not justify being totally ignorent to someone. remember us young punk kids might be your next door neighbor bringing up your paper every morning when your so old you cant walk.. no offense is wished to anyone to read this but that mabye just a little more respect for the younger crowd remember we are all in this for the same reason kick *** go fast and have fun,,,

Thumbs down

Im 21 and I hope that I dont get that kind of treatment when I start showing up to gatherings and shows with my 2001 L. I have worked very hard to get to where I am today. I have been living on my own since I was 18. And I am paying for _ALL_ of my bills on my own. Including the new L.

Why don't you consider attending the Texas Chapter rally March 2,3&4 in San Antonio. There will be several "older" Lightning owners there along with some really cool F-150s. Great guys and a lot of fun guaranteed. I think we're even going to River City Dragway on Friday night.

North of The Colony (DFW area).

Note to Doug: "older" means drinking age.

I am a young Lightning owner(purchased at 18, but 19 now), but my ownership comes with a small twist. My father had made me a deal in high school that if I got a full scholarship to a college that he would match up to $.50 on the dollar to go towards a car of my choice. I ended up getting a full ride after attending a Junior College to hone(spelling?) my skills for a year and a half. So the Lightning is mine, but in order to keep insurance lower it is still in my dads name, while my name is on a 95 explorer. Only problem is my scholarship was to Montana State in Bozeman, and there is *******ing snow on the ground!!!!!! So i have to live with another car until it the snow is gone, then a roadtrip to meet Pops half way with the car. then the fun drive through montana back to school occurs. (75 MPH limits, which equates to about 90. if i want to be semi law abiding anyway)
