So it's the DMP KB truck that is knocking on a 9 sec pass with spray versus Ricks truck? I thought Ricks truck ran pretty heavy with bed lid etc and has a best of 10.8 or so?

Are these the trucks that are going to race?

Its (cowman) and this time were just running boost and we put the lid back on and the seat back in . We are both running 8 pound lower and 2.7 upper. but there wont be any fast ETs. lacr is a slow track they dont much to the track. But it should be fun.

Do you mean full weight as in 4444lbs with driver? Thats what Don Justus's truck weighed in at the last MM&FF Lightning shootout when it went 10.14 on the spray. You telling me you guys added 500lbs to it recently?

Later...

yep,,,my little ol can of bolts has only managed a 10.8,,,,but to give you an idea what kinda conditons Lacr has,,,,,only two trucks have EVER ran faster then 11.1 with boost only there ask the mighty dale01 what his best ever boost only run is,,,lol,,,sorry dale

comparing timeslips wont work in this situation,,,taking down a 10.0 truck with a 10.8 truck will

What Dons truck weighed there was more than most of the trucks i hear of running good times weigh. It also went 10.16 @ JDM day no nitrous, and a 9.96 with a 75 shot. And that article was done in August, so yea it was maybe a little warm out.

Dons truck has already race in the 10.30 ET range in competition this year with over 200lbs in the bed too! And has made about 60 1/4mile passes 10.7 or better since March, who else has done that!!!

4950 isnt a Lightning thats a frieghtliner. I consider full weight between 4400 and 4700lbs because thats what most weigh. And if your racing a truck that weighs that much its alot of extra stress on the motor.

If you are comparing two blowers against each other, then your "shootout" is a waste of time.

If you want a REAL comparison, run ONE truck, then swap the other blower onto that truck, the same day, and run again. Of course you'll have to make sure they both are using the same pulley configuration, and make sure the timing and A/F are the same for each setup.

That's the only way to do a valid test of this nature, on a track. Any other comparison's results should be taken with a grain of salt.

Werd! I consider my truck full weight. The only thing removed is the spare. With race rubber on basic aluminum wheels, a 1/4 tank of gas, and my 170lb *** in it, she usually weighs 4700lbs, with a best of 4660. NOTHING REMOVED but the spare.
And I agree that there are too many variables in this test, but if you make 5-10 passes in each rig, its a good start.

Exactly, thats what I was aiming at when I asked what trucks were racing.

I thought that they both ran at LACR and had times of 10.8 versus 10.3 or so on boost. Correct me with the real numbers Rick. If that is the case you can easily guess what truck "should" run faster.

Should be great fun anyway fellas, best of luck to you both, especially the Whipple truck haha.
