MAN! that felt good.
After driving my winter car home from work yesterday (93 Taurus) I went into the garage to make sure the new sub woofer box would fit behind the seat. It did fit, it was a little tight so I had to move the seat up one click. The box was made for a singe 10" square kicker solo baric. I would have liked to make the box a little bit smaller but because the sub is so deep I did not have much choice. Any way it just felt good to sit in the L again, and look at it. I forgot how comfortable it was. My 93 Teal cobra sitting next too it also looked good. I ended up sitting in the cobra for a minute and remembered how dam cold leather can be!
Well I am sure I am not alone here when I say I am looking very forward to SUMMER!!!!

John,
Yeah the L is so comfortable, even on long trips. I haven't driven mine in about 2 months but I usually sit in it at least once a week. On a side note, how do you like that Kicker Solo-baric L7? I have been thinking of using one of those. Does it sound really good? How much power are you pushing to it? Thanks.

I have a Solo Square 12" in my 93. It's mounted behind the center console in a custom box. I'm running it with a kicker class D amp. I forgot the exact model but its about a $350 amp.
Anyway, it sounds great, and makes more than enough bass to rattle some loose ends. I think if i was to do it again i would go with a 10 just so it covered the higher end a little better. I've been thinking about getting an 8 or 6.5" set of drivers to handle that stuff.
I also heard a lexus with 6 of these square 12s mounted behind the front seats. Let me put it this way. I was standing 10 feet away from the car with the door open. My clothes were blowing around in the tornado of air coming out of there. The roof of the lexus bulged out on every bass hit.

I bought the car from an older lady (50+) it was kept in a heated garage. I got it with 6,105 miles on it and have had it almost 2 years. Currently it has 11,231 or somewhere in that range. It is basicly stock except for a mac cold air induction, steeda tri-ax shifter and the stereo has been completely re-done. I too am thinking about selling mine in the spring. I am getting close to buying a house, or just another cobra. I was thinking a 96 mystic. I just don't drive it enough and when I do I drive it like an old lady. I don't like to beat on cars but I barley ever put my foot into the cobra. The Lightning on the other hand, I would not say that I beat that but I like to make sure my boost gauge works at least once a day.
Here is a a few pics of the system in my 93 Cobra. I designed and built the whole system myself.
The run down on the system.
In the Car
Eclipse 5605 6 Disk in Dash Changer
6 1/2 MB Quart in the door with 1" tweeters in the dash.
5 1/4 MB Quart on 6x8 mounting plates
In the Hatch
2 12" Eclipse DVC subs
2 PPI PC 2600 amps (one for each sub)
1 PPI PC 4800 powering all of the MB Quarts
2 Lightning Audio 1.0 Caps
Under the hood I have a 0 gauge wire running in to a circuit breaker and then running all the way to the trunk. In the trunk under the box I have a distribution block that splits the 0 gauge wire into three 4 gauge wires that then go to the amp's.
Pics of the hatch.

Impressive pictures! I wish that I had some pictures here that I could post - they are all on my computer back at work. My best friends dad has a teal 93 as well with 130,000 miles on it - still runs strong.
I bought mine with 29,900 miles on it in 1996. It was a toss up between that and a brand new mystic cobra. glad i opted for the '93 because of all the problems with the 96-97 Cobra's. The car now has 45,000 miles and is never in rain/salt/snow. Matter of fact, I have had the wipers off ever since I've owned it.
Modifications on my car are:
1)3.73 gear
2)Mac 1" 5/8 equal length shorty headers
3)H-pipe on stock exhaust - sounds awesome believe it or not
4)Custom Ram Air with conical K+N
5)Underdrive Pulley's
6)TPS set at .99 v
7)Reprogrammed LX 5.0 computer by Mike Wesley of C+M racing in Ypsillanti, MI - best thing I ever did!!
8)Uninstalled strut tower brace - can't bear to drill into my car.
I have kept all the stock pieces.
I don't run the car hard either - except the few times it's been at the track. Do you think that these cars will be worth something in the future?? I love my car, but I would also like to use it to help buy a house.
All in all, a very fun car that catches everyones attention.

I make sure that any mods I do to the car I can undo. I keep all the stock parts in case I sell it. I wanted to do a strut tower brace but once I found out about drilling I said no way. When I did the stereo, I ran all new wires and did not cut one factory wire and did not drill though the fire wall to get the 0 gauge wire though. I am a baby about that car. There was no way I was letting a stereo shop do that install. The thought of someone climbing around in my car or cutting wires, or drilling holes made me sick. Never mind the possiblity of a joy ride. I have a Bassani X-pipe with cats sitting in the box in my basement. I have no idea how to do an exhagust system but I won't let anyone else do it either. Guess I will just have to sit down somenight and try it.
I am in the same boat as you. If I sell the car that helps with out a lot with a downpayment on a house.
I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I did not have the car I would not even thing of buying another one but once you have it, they are hard to let go. Ahhhhhh!!!!!
Sorry about the long post.
Well if I do sell it at least I still have this to drive around!

I'm glad there are other Cobra owners out there that take good care of their cars. There are a few Cobra's running around the area with owners that need to be shot. The majority of them are beat up, not to mention all tore up from modifications. I am all for modifying a car - just needs to be done in a neat orderly fashion. The X-Pipe shouldn't be too hard of an install. The only problem I had installing my H-Pipe was with the connection to the muffler inlet pipes - 2.5 to 2.25 doesn't work too well. Made it work, and it sounds great. I will never touch the rest of the exhaust system as it is specific to the car. Have you noticed that the stock drivers side tail pipe is bent down a touch on every 93 Cobra? I have yet to see one that isn't.

I know what you mean about the Lightning seats. I too own a '93 Cobra - black #3182. The only thing I don't like about the leather in my car is that it makes my back very warm in the summer time. How many miles do you have on yours? I was thinking of trying to get rid of mine in the Spring, but haven't decided yet - i guess if the right offer came along, then I would.
