Post Torque Converter

I just read the article in Truckin Magazine on the Pro Torque converter giving a chipped/mass air lightning .47 tenths in the quarter. Has anyone had any experience with either the Pro Torque or the Level 10? Sure seems like a worthyu investment. Any caveats?

High Roller,

As I have said before you have a lot of practicle experience with performance parts for the L,s. So was wandering why you decided not to fit the convertor. Is it the same reasons I will probably give it a miss? Like lack of street traction and changing the personality of a great truck.
Also if I remember you have the latest JDM chip. I am about to order it and was wandering what your opinion is after having it a few weeks.

Thanks

James

Hilander,
I decided not to install this converter because i am considering getting a new 01 next fall! We have 20 inches of snow on the ground right now so i have not been able to drive my L since Thanksgiving! But i can tell you the times i did drive it with the JDM chip in i was VERY impressed on the power it had compared to the other chips i have.In my opinion there is not a chip out there faster than this one you will be glad you got a reburn it is good for a honest 6 tenths!

Hey highroller, How much do you wan to sell your converter for cause I might be interested in buying it. I live right by chicago so tell me how much.

What type is it?
What is the stall?
What size is it? (is it 10.5")
Is the pro power converter the same as the precision industies?
Is there a warranty on the converter still?

RTKILLA,
It is a 10.5 inch pro-torque converter with a 2800 stall. As for a warranty i am not sure how they would handle that!I don't know if it is the same as a precision converter you would have to call pro-torque or level 10 to compare the two!I paid $745 plus shipping for the converter and i am asking $450 for the new converter and i will pay for shipping!

Question

Ok, this question was never answerd in the last topic. Why is it that the TC can make such a difference with slicks, but won't help at all with only the F-1's???

because the slicks will hook up whereas the F1's would merely break loose from the xtra rpm launch...

Dog Leg: in most situations slicks will drop the et's around .2-.3 but not in all situations.it would all depend on the power the vehicle is making.if your vehicle isn't making much power then the slicks wouldn't help much at all.but if your making good power then your slicks would work great because of the hook up they'll give. thats when a good converter will come into play. we can leave alot harder thus dropping et's. the converter will drop et's even more with out adoubt! but we need the slicks to stick it to the ground

Guys I have a Precision Converter and the size is 9.5" not 10.5". I think the only difference size makes is the amout of stall you can put in the converter.

Cool

But then is it fair to say the .3 of the .5 they clam come from the slicks, not the converter.
