Can you give me sourse, prices and possibly post pics?
Has anyone painted their wheels? On red?
Thanks in advance.

I know several have had there wheels chromed. I have a rim im having to replace, and im gona polish the damaged one to see how it looks. Just got some cool stuff from eastwood. I havent heard of a company tho that is polishing wheels. My friend and I have talked about starting one as a side thing due to between the both of us we have all the equipment.

I heard the lightning wheels are a pain to polish due to the type of material it is.

If you are looking to save money,This is not where you should try.Chrome wheels are as easy to clean as the factory,Aluminum is a pain in the a$$ to keep clean and polish. They are very time consuming to keep nice.Chrome you just take a sponge and wipe away to a brand new surface.

Ive had both chrome wheels and polished .Chrome has always been better and always keeps the same shine.Aluminun dulls just by keeping the in sunlight. What a pain in the a$$~

Hey Videoman, Looked into both options for my wheels. Rims are powdercoated from factory, require very caustic chemical or abraisive stripping before polishing. Was told it would take at least 6-8 passes to polish rims to show quality. Was quoted $250 per rim. Kinda high but this shop does perfect work so its definitely on the high side. Think BABolt posted about a shop in Baltimore area that does polishing, looked for the post but couldn't find it. Also sounded expensive. Considered powder coating my rims white, but center caps can't be coated which means possiblity of having three shades of white on same truck, couldn't live with that! Painting is not an option for me because L is my transportation and painted rims are too vulnerable to high mileage. Sorry for long post, good luck!

Cool

Thanks Guys for the replies.
The reason I am asking is I've had my share of chromed aluminium wheels that went bad after 6 months. My Cobra Rs were chromed before it was fashionable. The shop was one of the largest in Fla. and shipped all over the world. Needless to say the warranty was 6 months on pitting, bubbling and peeling. 6 months and 3 weeks they started bubbling.
I thought maybe polished wheels then clear power coated would work.
