If you asked me yesturday if I believed in Santa, I would have said"Yeah, Right" ask me now and I would say "Yes".

I started work off like every other day going through the paces when out of the corner of my eye, I just catch the rear of a truck going by the window. Stopped, looked back and said to myself. "Were those clear tail lights"? Na, it's not January 8th yet!!

But the voice in my head said, "You better check". So I go to the door and there she was! A Silver 2001. I was in shock!! So I waited for the guys to come into the building. Hey, you guys with SVT? Yea! Ok, great!

I have a Silver 2001 on order. Does it have the 01 Powertrain or is it a 2000 with the 01 trim. "No, it's got the 01 powertrain"

So I get my jacket, head out to the truck. Drooled in -18 cold. I go back in and talked some more with them. They were at my building picking up a 2001 Cobra.

So the one guy throws me the keys and says tak it out for a ride. "Well after I picked my jaw off the ground a co-worker and I took her out and "WOW".

The roads were wet still and didn't have the time to take it out on the test track! No dry pavement anywher to let her hook up.

The drive was good enough to erase the doubts i had. Wondering if the truck was going to be worth the payment I was going to make every month. "YES IT IS"

By the way the clear tail lenses blend in great with the silver. The upper console has the Digital temp,compass read-out,Sunglass holder and garage door function.

Interior looked unchanged other than the upper console. The wheels look good on the silver and look better in-person. I handed the keys back and said it was worth the wait! You made my Christmas!!

January 8th is still Job#1 he said!!Won't be soon enough for me.

I'm curious - do some of the '00 models not have this? Mine does, it has all that. I saw on another board where somebody said they didn't have the compass. ???

You can bet when I get my hands on a '01 I'm gonna give her a run.

I'd talked to SVT today myself. They said it was still a go for January 8th. Let's all keep our fingers crossed...... I need to get my 01L to offset my 2 vetts. I'm looking forward to adding a little class to my glass.

I don't know if the console was new for 2000 or if it was available from the start in 99.5 MY.

Does anyone know when the upper console was implemented in the L? And with what features!

All the 2000's got consoles... the 99's didn't have them.

Saw one 99 that a guy put a sunroof in...nice idea, but our console gets in the way now.

The truck was a promo vehicle. The only other on I've seen is the red one in Las Vagas at the SEMA show.

By the way guys! I wish I could have taken a few thousand miles off the tires! The weather/roads were bad and I love my job! Ford has a policy on driving "M" plated vehicles on public roads. If I had more time I would have taken her into the track where I could have given her a real test evaluation.he,he!

No clunk! That's hitting pot-holes you could bury your mother-in-law in. The Supercharger sounded like music to my ears!
egging me on for more throttle!!

when did that svt mag come out? I used to get copies but it seems they have lost my address again.

 

Call 1-800 Ford-SVT and give them your address again. I just did this for my girlfriend yesterday. They told me they would send some back issues. That is the latest out I believe. It is Volume 3 issue #3. They are sending us that one also.

If I call that number and ask for the Mag, will they be charging me? Or since I'm a "Almost SVT owner" do I get it for free?
