Post Window Clunk?

I couldn't find anything on a search, but seems like I remember several months ago about a recurring Ford problem with the windows. When I roll the window up all the way, there is a loud clunk from what appears to be a faulty limit switch. Has anyone noticed this? I've had my L since April and it just started last week. Thanks.

I think I've experienced the same thing, but mine only happens at highway speed. Consequently, I suspected that it's caused by the air pressure wanting to suck the window slightly out of the track. If I'm correct, then I don't think there's a cure.

I get my clunk even at crawling speed. Does anyone know how to set the limits on the window.

Hey Guy,

I got the same damn thing happening to my 00. It comes and goes highway or around town. Kinda upsetting. I've had the truck since Mar. and I think it's always been going on.Like I said it's not constant. It comes and goes.

I experience the same thing.. And there's also something else to watch with our window regulators and doors. Since 97, the F150s have had problems with the doors splitting near the bottom of the window-but along the side of the window. The biggest problem was with the 97s but we're seeing it still in the 00s.

The driver's window on my '97 Lariat 'clunked'. I sprayed silicone on the tracks and that worked for about 3 months, then it would start again. Got my first 'clunk' on the Lightning when it got cold last week. I'm taking it in to the shop tonight, so I'll give them a spray.

Anyone know of a better and/or longer lasting fix?
