"students, special interest group" why dont you try THE biggest special interest group the military they spend more money than any other. And I am not talking about our enlisted men and women they have always been underpaid under any president. I am talking about programs like the marines OSPREY the 40 billion dollar blunder that has only been successful in killing americans. And W's dad's hero Regan and the tax dollar bottomless pit "Star Wars" and old W wants to spend more to protect us against an enemy that is non existent or one that we cannot stop; terrorism. Gores plan is not to halt all gasoline engine production the day he took office. He is thinking towards the future sure we will all be dead before we see the results but our children will be the ones that have to clean up our mess.

 

But, Sire....the military is force......do you not like force?......do you not depend on your "freedom"...???....Without "Freedom" you would not be able to

And Star Wars?.....an elegant answer to a nuclear missile stuck up your ***.....the uranium...plutonium..etc..is leaving the Soviet Union in alarming rates...through Europe (Germany) into Middle East Countries...just a matter of time...before

Our country needs to evolve we can no longer depend on brute force to defend our nation. It is no wonder that every month there are thousands of High-Tech visas issued to countries like India and Singapore to work in the US we need to educate our youth. I a would rather spend our tax dollars on education than the next big killing machine. The next world war will be won or lost on the digital battle field. Sure we have our defense like security hill here in San Antonio out at Kelly(now thats some cool stuff going on in there what I would give to mess around with that system) but countries like the old Russia have digital warriors for lack of a better term that attack not our military but our industry that every american relies on for a living. I am not worried so much about nuclear weapons than chemical/biological weapons after reading THE COBRA EVENT by Richard Preston it is a fictional book but is based on alot of real things that exist it alarmed me on how much of a threat these type of weapons are.

 

Nuclear Missiles are not my idea of body piercing...and I will just leave it at that...lata...

Infinite, what makes you an expert on the military? Read Blackhawk Down? Non fiction describing the worst military action undertaken ever. Lots of waste in military budget, but also included is military defense, which is just as critical. Lets hope whoever gets in doesn't sell sensitive info to potential foes like the current administration (of which G is a member).

 

it's a good thing only the brilliant know about the digital battle field, not like the military would know about that. oh yeah they were warning us of that 14 years ago when i was in.
i have only one question...when they take out the computers, what do we have left for defense....oh yeah "brute force" and yes we are very capable of continuing the mission w/o computer support.

 

We'll have the Confederate Air Force, based in Texas, with the 14th largest air force in the world all made up of flyable WWII planes including a B-29 and not a computer in one of'em.

You know you guys in Texas are right about one thing...you will never run out of natural gas....cause all that stuff coming out of your mouths is as good or better than the stuff in good old terra firma...
Houston Space Center is just a control center..The launch pad and actual missile controls are in Florida if I remember right.
But I forgot, Florida and some guy named Jeb were the ones that messed up this election...BTW is he any relation the GW?..That's what I thought..
And as for other countries thinking we are doing this thing the right way...think again...they are sitting back and saying "look at those Americans, still can't figure their a'ss from a hole in the ground"
I love my country and what it stands for, but this past election farce has done nothing to make us look smart, great or anything else. And don't believe what foreign dignataries say (they are politicians too!!!)
