I've had my Dakota up to an estimated 135... only thing scary at that speed, is what the cop will do to you if he catches you...

I think any blown motor can go nearly till the gear runs out... I was at 4k RPM in overdrive racing a new Toyota Celica GT(s?)
(You shoulda seen their faces!! heheh)

I think I've read that the L's have a limiter in the upper 140s or 150's... which is tooooo fast fer me

There is no limiter on the 'Bolt, as far as I can ascertain. As for top speed, I think that Ruslow (chip and filter?) was clocked at 158 at some point during the Silver State Classic, which is the fastest certified speed I've heard reported on this board. I've only been up to 126 thus far and it certainly had a lot left in it.

As far as kills, I scored a good one a couple weeks back. I was out on a very dry, cold night (28 degrees and no humidity - horsepower weather). If that's what a chip/filter feels like, then sign me up. Anyway, after "inadvertently" lighting them up for 100 feet or so pulling out of a packed Bob Evans (a little smoke show for the grannies) and hanging it sideways at 60 mph merging into traffic on the interstate, I knew that the night was right to go "hunting". Even the Old Lady practically insisted, on principle.

Headed straight down to the Eastgate area of Cincinnati, which is the mega-teenybopper-cruise-central. Made a slow roll up Route 32 (perfect for the purpose, 4-lane divided for side-to-side action). Barely off the exit I felt a nibble on my line. FISH ON!

I was rolling at about 35 mph in the right lane and a brand-new 2000 brownish Mouse-Stang GT with all of the "fast stickers" rolled up on my left door. Young punk wannabees piled three deep. Once eye contact was made, it was on. They dropped down a couple of gears and floored it. It squatted down and rocketed away. Away form the general vicinity, that is, but not away from the bloodthirsty silver beast as I simultaneously mashed the pedal to the floor and began the typical street racing commentary. Do you guys do that also - a very loud, taunting, commentary ("...WHO'S YOUR DADDY?...") while applying the spankage?

Anyway, what started as a perhaps half-fender jump evaporated as quickly as it took for the boost needle to go vertical. High-pitched blower whine, climbing RPM, and rapidly shrinking headlights in the rear-view. I ran it up to about 100 and it was long-over by then (double-digit car-lengths). About a mile up the road we caught a red light. Of course, the weenies went for the left-turn lane.

This one was particularly satisfying, as it was one of the rare occasions where I was not the instigator. Same results, but even more humiliating for the severely beaten opponent. Did I mention that I LOVE THIS DAMN TRUCK?

Why do people continue to line up for a public flogging at the hands of us 'Bolt owners? What do they hope to accomplish?

I lined up with an ls-1 firechicken last week and pulled away from him hard. He dropped off around 90 mph. We talked at the next light and he'd had an intake and exhaust added (that's all he admitted to).

Last night on the way home from the gym. Two local kids (can I say "swamp boys"? I mean this is central Florida, and these two guys were from out in the woods big-time) in a late 80's GT with "hooker" and "edelbrock" and "flowmaster" stickers all over it. I was behind them at a light on a straight 4-laner. He took off slow, then nailed it. I didn't react at all. They slowed so I obliged them and pulled into the other lane and started to come up alongside. The light ahead was turning red as I approached, and as I pull beside them, his buddy in the passenger seat looking straight out of "Deliverence" hangs out the window to check me out and bellows out a big "Awwwwwwwww-sheeeeeeiiiiittt!!!" Light turns green, we're barely still rolling so I let him get the clutch out in 1st (gotta be fair, I never hole-shot an underdog) and I proceed to mutilate 'em. 1st started to spin, but I got a handle on it quick and pulled 3 lengths by 60 mph. Tapped my brake lights and tossed out my thumbs-up. They caught up and slowed beside me. Passenger gave me a thumbs-up and yelled "Deeeeeaaaaaammmmm!" Fun, safe race.

The first day I picked up my L, I went to my buddies house toshow him the beast. Well we go out for a ride and just as we leave the hood what do I see. A brand new GTS viper. I new this had to be a sign. I was out in lockport and there was a new viper in front of me. This guy had no clue what a lightning was since they just started to apear about a month ago, and I had the first one around my area. So I followed this viper for a long time waitng for a two lane street so I could test out my L. Well I finally got up next to him and reved up the engine to signal that I wanted some. He rolled down his window and said, are you kiding me its a truck. So I politly said yeah a truck with 360 horsepower. Well you can guess what happened next. I new I was going to lose to a brand new GTS with my stock L, but hey I race a new viper the first day I had it. I was probably the first person to race a viper with a new L in Illnois and maybee the world. Either way it was fun getting my a$$ whooped on. I only lost by a little bit, like two car length's, I don't think he new how to drive it cause he should have gotten alot more. Besides that race I have never lost another street race to date.

ongI think there have been a handful of Viper GTS races, kinda like this one.

He made it quite specific that he didn't want to go from a stop light. I talked to him for a few minutes and said it would look bad for him to be seen racing a truck (and losing).

There are a bunch more videos on the way, should be up on svtperformance.com in a couple of days...

My last kill was a 98 trans am on the 294 highway after the limp bizkit concert. I was already pumped up and then this idiot pulls up to me at about 60 or so and wants to run them. I wooped his A$$ up to about 130 or so and then I let off it cause I was drinking that night and didn't want any to have to deal with any cops. He went passed me after I tapped my brakes a few times. I love it when its cold outside and you get to race. Much more boost.

Mine's in the garage hybernating now so no kills for a while.
