Ford and/or SVT now sucks
that is, if they are still supposed to be anything like what they used to be when you took your SVT in under warranty. Took it in for a crack in the plastic molding (halo) around the rear glass.
Went there initially, was told they had to order the part and wait approx 5 days. Isn't this the same piece that every truck from 97-03 has? Anyway, the service guy didn't bother to call me when it came in, I had to be the one call in to find out it arrived.
Took the truck in, they never offered me a loaner. Then they didn't bother to call me when it was finished, I had to call them at the last minute to find out it was ready for pick-up. It was raining when I picked it up, they never bothered to put in paper floor mats, so needless to say, the floor looks like shiit.
Add insult to injury, both seats and both mirrors were re-adjusted (no reason for that) and the dome light lens was missing. Was told they will now have to order that too.
Very annoying experience. Kinda makes you not feel so sorry for their financial woes.

All in the dealer man, I would look into switching to another for your service and future business. I bought a USED lightning and they gave me an 07' Titan for a rental, no questions asked, I never even asked to get a rental. Cronin Ford In Harrison Ohio was great to me. Also, Beechmont Ford in Beechmont Ohio is great.
I'd Have to agree its really about the dealer. I don't think Ford has a lot of say in how they operate. Took my 2002 L in with a plug blowout. 44000 and out of warranty. Not only did the dealer put on a new clylinder head, Ford gave me a 3 year 36000 mile extended warranty. Out of pocket, $100.00 deductable. Im a believer.

Although, yes, Ford to some extent is responsible for the actions of their dealer, I think it is absurd to think they can guarantee every single employee at franchised dealerships knows how to treat a customer and is perfect in every way. You had one bad experience, it's not the end of the world, and it isn't "Ford's" fault.
Complain to the dealership, and/or Ford itself ABOUT the dealership if it really bothers you so much, and I am sure something will come of it.

i had a dealership refuse to look at my harley truck ('03) since it is supercharged and "that's not a factory option" and my warranty "is too long"
I had the wheels re-balanced and the vibration went away but i am still wondering why i paid for a warranty...
so it might be ford new way of dealing with customers

Since when does "Ford" own dealerships???? Last I knew dealerships are owned by regular people with a crap load of money NOT FORD. Why do people always blame it on the manufacturer and not make the dealer responsible. The dealeships actions should not be reflected on the manufacturers.
#1 The reason the Mirrors and Seats were re-adjusted was because someone took it out and beat the ever living schitt out of it
#2 Never bring your Vehicle to a Dealer
#3 See above...
Oh ya for the record Ford sucks monkey *** ever since Gay Bill took it over.
They walked away from performance at what will prob go down in history as thee most performance driven time period ever. They have nothing to offer any more except a Mustang and a non affordable non attainable GT.
You couldnt count how many Performance Vehicles Dodge now offers and it's spread throughout ALL the product line (Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler). Someone could walk in a buy a Luxury Car that looks like a rolls and will eat mustangs all day long, trucks with v-10's, now (3) Hemi's, Magnums, 4cyl SRT's, 6 cyl SRT's, 8 Cyl, 10 Cyl, WHAT NEXT ??? For starters this yrs Viper comes stock with 600HP and they offer parts to make it a 675HP / 650TQ. Chevy's got the SS trucks and SUV's, the oh so affordable KICK *** Vette's,
of course the little rice burners, and soon the Camaro will be back.
Ford has NOTHING to offer cept the Stang, and their service has always sucked.
HOWEVER they did build the biggest and baddest got dam Vehicle ever made
and I'm proud to own one

There is no excuse for leaving your truck interior dirty but everyone is always so quick to jump down a dealers throat for every little thing around here. If you don't like your dealer find another one or find someone you do trust.
Lots of Ford defenders here......
One would think an SVT dealer would be vaguely familiar with the SVT program. Searching for another SVT dealer would be as much hit-or-miss as going to this one. Seems like the SVT program was forgotten about as easily as 9/11 for much of the country based upon many of the above posts of shiitty dealerships.
Also, Ford is ultimately responsible for whom they allow to buy a dealership, aren't they? Wouldn't a prospectiive Ford dealer/owner have to answer to, and interview with some brass types from Ford? Too many defend Ford and blame ONLY the dealerships. Sorry, I love the truck, but don't care much for the service or the company (with their lame offerings right now) at this point.
As Rob said, Ford ain't got shiit right now compared to Dodge. And Chevrolet stuck with the pushrod motor and is now making as much or more HP (naturally aspirated) as Ford does with blowers on top of their modular disasters. The only reason the Cobra motor was decent was because of double the number of valves (flow), and decent bottom end rods/crank. The rest of the mod motor line are complete junk.
Local race engine builder down here (Ronnie Crawford) has had countless customers bringing in factory mod motors out of everything blown up from various parts failures, and you wouldn't believe how many different places these motors can potentially fall apart from. Try valves spliting at the heads, blocks caving in on the cylinder walls, rods, motors out of balance from factory, etc.
Like I said, I love the truck, but I can't see Ford's current or future offerings attracting me to buying anything else they build.

Well...I've had plenty of bad experiences with various dealerships for every kind of car I've owned....especially the expensive foreign ones like Mercedes/Audi. I wouldn't blame a single manufacturer...blame your dealer.
Anyway, what I did was search several forums for information about good dealers in my area. I found alot of good info about World Ford just a few miles from my house and sure enough I was treated great by them. Even my service advisor had a Lightning with DR's on the back.
If you have several stealerships in your area try some searching around on the forums and hopefully you'll find out about a better one.
