Originally I heard that Dec 4th was going to be Job 1 for the 01 Ls. It's getting real close to that date and to my knowledge nothing official has come from Ford yet. Anyone with any inside info????

 

We built the first "full run" of 150 transmissions for the '01 this week, judging by past, they should be building them this week or next. My transmission was built 3/22/00, my truck built 3/2300.
JIT inventory, ain't it great?

Called scheduling at Ontario truck. VIN'S are available. No build dates as of today for Lightnings. My order shows a material hold against it!! My guy told me to call tomorrow!

They told me 12/4/00 was still the start build date! Well see. I have good reason to believe it might get pushed back!! Don't ask why. I can't tell!! If it does that's "ok" with me, cause im not driving it in the winter here anyway! And no payment while i wait for spring!!he!he!he!

We built a run of 30 about a moonth back, I thnk they were for our inventory or pre-production. They didn't ship right away, theymay even still be back there, I haven't looked. 30 is a small run, we ussualy build 50 -150 per run.

What are the planned changes from the 00 to the 01?

the 01 gets 3:73 gears (replacing the 3:55s in 99 and 00 --i think thats what they have)

the 01 gets like 15 more hp andf ft lbs as well..

the 01 has different headlamps, taillight lenses are clear and has different 17" wheels.

 

I called the dealer today, they will let me know, but said soon. Also I got my order receipt in the mail today. I just love the $20.50 charge for 10 gallons of gasoline.

The changes for 2001 are 20 more hp a 3.73ls rear end, diferent shocks, new head and tail lights,new rims, also signal mirrors. last but not least a higher sticker price.

the 20.50 may be canadian dollars. I don't know but it's a thought.

 

Don't forget the 4.5" aluminum driveshaft and the overhead console.
