wrecked my L yesterday
Hey thanks mat2ch this was my first offense and it will be my last. As for ruger43 you're telling me you have never made the mistake of getting behind the wheel after you have had a few? I'm sure there are other GROWN-UPS on here that have done it once or twice before too. Not that I'm condoning it, but everybody makes mistakes in their life. I know everyone knows the dangers of drinking and driving, but sometimes it takes a situation like this to make one really realize what can happen when you drive drunk, it did for me. So if one person on here can take something away from all of this and think about it next they are pondering the idea of driving drunk, then I got my point accross, that's all.

It's 2007 SHERLOCK, all of us Grown-Ups here already know what happens when you drink and drive and SURE AS HELL don't need to be educated by your immature DUMB A**.
Whatever punishment you get probably should not be enough. I'd love to see the Judge grant the Father's of those 2 girls 10 minutes in a locked room with you, Punk.

Relax man... the guy knows he screwed up..BIGTIME, he made a mistake and he knows it.... what are you gonna do burn him at the stake for making a mistake? Luckily no one was hurt.. and thats the most important thing
Man i would love to be around when you make a mistake
Oh and for the person who made the comment that if it was his girl that stepped into the car there would be a missing persons report.... How smart is your girl for even getting into a car with a drunk driver..
And before anyone opens their mouth.. yeah i have lost two close friends to drinking in driving... one on NYE's where the sterring wheel went through my friend and another instances where my buddy was racing around a corner (same street as my other friend mind you) and split his camaro just about in half from a telephone pole... so no i dont have sympathy for drinking and driving but like i said before luckily no one was hurt.
I also agree that your insurance company should not pay for the damage.

Hasnt anyone taught you how to mix your drugs ???
Back in the days you would always snort or smoke some C before driving drunk

Sorry to hear bout the L
When I read the first couple of lines I knew you put yourself out there,
kind of reminds me of me
OR SOMETHING.....
I am NOT standing up for the guy [like I said in the first post kudos for admitting ]but don't be pissed at him for the actions of the 'girls' they KNEW he was drunk [they were all in the bar TOGETHER} so they are at fault to for GETTIN IN the truck KNOWING his condition.IF I was the father of the girls i would say hope you learned your lession and thanked god nothing did happen. We are all quick to point blame when we should be looking at the other parties involved too.Unless he FORCED them into the truck the father has no rite to blame him fully it is 50/50 split.Stan

I was on a curvey hyway and came up way to fast around a turn. Apperantly I went off the road ran through three fences, two trees and a couple of posts and ended up in a manure pasture. Thank god nobody was hurt. The owner of the land called the sherrif and of course I was arrested for OWI. The estiment on the truck is 14k. Still waiting to here from the insurance company to see what they are going to do. I have full coverage and the truck books at 19k, so hopefully they won't total it out. I think someone was watching out for us that night.

I think the thread evolved to that AFTER you started seeing some of the responses from members and began to feel stupid. In no part of your original post does it say anything about how you hope people don't make the same decision you did nor does it say anything about not drinking and driving ever again. You are more concerned with your truck in the first post and hope that you get your stupid insurance money. If "educating" people was your original intent, you would have made it CLEARLY obvious, but all you mentioned was "thank god nobody was hurt" and "someone was watching out for us." That's the extent to which you are portraying your so-called "lesson learned." The title of your thread also would have been very different if a moral lesson is what you were trying to prove, not just "wrecked my L." You are way too nonchalant about this in the begining and this is why people are talking down to you. You obviously should have just kept this "accident" to yourself.

Perfectly stated, calling it LIKE IT IS.
Sure Skelly454, I've made mistakes, we all have, but I sure as HELL don't post them on the boards.
The whole thing was about wrecking the L, then when you saw the negative responses and you tried sugar coating it and spinning it off like you wanted US to learn from your mistakes. BULL. I truly hope you have learned a valuable lesson, just don't insult our intelligence.
If you are not prepared for the feeback, positive or negative, then don't post something like that.
Good Luck to you!
Im not going to sit here and talk ***** because I'm a normal guy just like you are. People make mistakes and as long as you learn from it and dont do it again your on the right path. Glad to see no one was hurt, and you just got yourself one expensive lesson learned. Stan is absolutly right, those girls are at fault for getting in the truck with him. They were there, they knew he was drunk. Sorry to hear about the L.
