I'm new to this board, but have been occasionally reading your posts. I'm lookin to buy an 01 L and was curious to what everyone else is paying? Thanks for any feedback.

"Paying" is the problem. At this point it's not a transaction - it's a promise to transact. My confirmation says in three places that the price is not guaranted. How do you negotiate something that you want so badly that you've agreed to wait in line for four months?

Santa Margarita Ford in Orange County, CA has agreed to sell it to me "at window". They're only a few miles away and have a good service team so I want to get it there.

This feels like one of those times where trying to beat $900 out of a dealer just isn't going to happen. But, hey, at $1.85 a gallon for premium and 13 mpg who's counting?

Hey trabuco. have you ever been to Star Ford, in Glendale (Ca). Went today and looked at an 00 L, but didn't ask about an 01. They're a huge dealership and the salesman said they get roughly about 6 a year, but since ford bumpped up production from 5000 to 7500 they'll be getting more. Im just not sure at what price they want to sell them at. It is a fairly large dealership and im sure they'll be willing to deal. Another good dealer is i think called Stanton ford in Westminster. I forget the name, but i know its down Beach Blvd. in westminster. They are also a big dealership who'll most likely be willing to deal.

Get a VIN# and confirmation. There have been too many stories of trucks getting pulled out from under the original buyer.

Just a suggestion.

Having heard anything about Starr or Stanton. The biggest SVT dealers I know of out in the Valley, are Galpin, Magic, and and one other. I bought mine at Barber Ford in Ventura, about an hour drive from my house. Bought it for Sticker. And out here in Cali, I can't argue with that. Most places are marking sticker up. It was pretty easy, went in, talked briefly , gave him my deposite, and that was it. If you're not sure what sticker is, it's $32,300. I would love to pay less, but as trabuco says, it's not even worth the trouble trying to beat the dealer out of $900. Can't argue with greatness. Good luck in your decisions.

HyE_Bolt, Undy ordered it through SALOC. They only work out of his region. I already called them today. If you don't mind paying sticker, then I can give you the name and number to a nice guy that works for Barber Ford in Ventura.

Cool

Hey Marcus,

The dealership would only allow me one other L at this price. I was taken up on it as soon as I posted. If that person drops out I will post the offer again. His time is running out because as you know the dealers are only allowed a limited # approx.6.So they have to act quickly. As for my other screen name I haven't figured out how to change it.LOL.I entered that in April before I joined the NLOC list under Lightninforce and never posted over here.Later!

I stopped by the dealer Friday and I was presented with the dealer's latest cofirmation from Ford. I now have my VIN!!!!
The end of the tunnel is closer now. The next juicy bit of info I'm expecting is my delivery date.
In another thread someone said they could track future buid dates with the VIN... Does anyone have any info on that???

69 Vette, 496 stroker, 300hp NOS Fogger, Richmond 6sp, etc, etc etc.... grocery getter ( if ya can get it to the street...it's legal ).

98 C5, 6spd.... too many mods to list

01 L... ( in the mill )
