fixing worn suede

The suede right in front of my center counsel is very "pilly" not sure if that's the right word but the suede is really worn right there. Anybody know of a way to clean this up a little, thanks

yep, beard/hair trimmer, just give it a shave,or something

Really, I guess that would work, someone told me there is a brush for taking this off, anybody heard of it? thanks
