Jerkoff Dealership
Howdy Again,
See HITMAN gets it, and so does Sarrat Ford's; Service Department (The Second Service Department).
It's not hard to understand that "quality", and integrity are the bond between any relationship, and not just between a Service Department. This includes friends, and family etc... I'm really disappointed in some of you fellas. I've been here a long time, and never have I seen people become so judgmental. I'm not talking to "everyone" on this thread. The people who I'm referring to "know" who they are.
What happened to the good old days of posting with "real" decent fella's, and gals like those below:
Hell I could go on, and on. I apologize to the fellas & gals who I didn't add, but you also know who you are.
I'm talking about the fellas & gals who actually "cared" about the people on this board, and not just the fact that they drove, or owned a Lightning. We were like a family....
I remember saying prayers for Bill Bill Murray and Wlydman when trouble hit their families, and they did the same for me when I got sick with Crohn's Disease. Christy, and Justen were like my best pals. Always there for me, and talking with me about everything "including Lightnings". WhiteLightninSVTGirl & burningout101
Some of you fellas should not be at this board with your condescending attitudes. I'd like to see things return to the way they were. In fact I think it's time to take out the rubbish, so Steve will be hearing from me.
Steve "Banned" people who were judgmental, and snide, especially those who did it without "reason". It's a real shame what's happened here lately. I am not just referring to this thread either.
I've forgotten more about my Lightning, and being a decent fella then some of you jerks will ever learn in a lifetime, and that's the honest truth. I'm sure many of the {good} fellas here will agree. Anyway that's my two cents, and it's unfortunate that I had to sink down to your judgmental level just to make this very sad point.

P.S. Nathan you never replied back to me about 7 months ago. I hope you are doing much better since we last spoke. I know I am doing excellent now. I have a treatment geared towards Immunological support. It also "kills" cancer! Can you believe that! My friend Alana has lung, bone, blood, and organ cancer, and she began this treatment I setup for her, and she's getting better. Tumors are shrinking, and her body is killing the cancer! It's only been 3 weeks since she began. I've only been on it for 7 days, and man oh man I'm curing this son of a bitch.

Blue,
You post and ask for comments and then whine when anyone disagrees with you or your methods. All you really seem to want is validation. That don't play.
Now you want to be board cop, and have Steve toss the people who are mean to you.
You strike me as officious, and immature. That's why your dealer won't give you satisfaction, and why people on this board give you flak.

Oh man, I didn't make "the" list. Now "I'm" crushed.
Metallic Blue, first let me say this: I'm sorry that you have Crohn's Disease. I wouldn't wish any disease or sickness on any person alive on this earth. That wouldn't make sense. But we all have our own problems and issues that we must live with on a day to day basis.
I, for one, couldn't give a rat's *** if I don't make your "list" of "good" people. I just don't care. You are an interesting guy to have around. I have never seen such childish crap in all my life. Man, get a grip. The world is not out to get you. It's really not. But if you make the bed, well, you just have to sleep in it sometimes.
But, please stick around. Your methods are inspirational and it's always nice to see what not to do.
We are all faceless strangers here. All different, and all trying to get along. This post is probably not terribly conducive to that end but, oh well.
As Dr. Laura would say, "Now go take on the day."

Hello Bill,
Thanks for being so kind to me all throughout the process of "pre-diagnosis - present day". I also would like to thank about 30 people who e-mailed me concerning this thread, but did not post, because they felt they would be flamed for agreeing with me. It's cool
Bill I can understand exactly what you are saying, but what I have said today in this thread had "nothing" to do with mood swings. I don't have mood swings these days
I've been off all medication, and have found a cure for Crohn's Disease. Yes that is correct! I said CURE!. The doctor told me I would have this for the rest of my life, and so I took the liberty of proving him wrong, and then implementing my research which took me over 6 months to put together. I had to study immunology, Anabiology, Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculos, tuberculosis, TH1, TH2, and Leprosy. It turns out MAP a bacterium with a genetic variation of Leprosy (Bacterial disorder which eats the skin of it's victims) is the cause of Crohn's Disease. The Dr's don't know this, and no one will admit to it, but I've already proven it. Have your fellow co-workers get in touch with me if they want the cure. It's simple to use, and has no side effects unless of course you call being "happy, and productive" a side effect! Oh yeah the treatment is a simple regimen including a few natural items, and Transfer Factor
I am feeling terrific, and to be honest this thread does not even upset me. I'm very content with the new message board I found where the members are terrific, and about 30 people from this board probably won't be coming here to post anymore along side me.
Take care, and thanks Bill!

For once I am speechless or nearly so.
I probably knew better than to jump into this thread but did so anyway.
Best of luck to you, and remember the five minute rule even if you have found your own cure.

From my own experiences way across here in Oz, I have never seen good reliable service come out of a dealership's service center ,and that's with just about any make you care to name. My local Ford/Mitsubishi dealer has been especially bad. I even know and have done business with the owner for many years, purchasing vehicles for my company (no personal purchases) and selling him our products. Yet his service department continually fails to make the grade. I would shudder to think I'd ever let his guys touch my L, especially as they have never laid hands one before. I can speak from close experience when I talk about my local scene, since my best friend of 10 years and co-worker came directly from the automotive trade, owning a very successful repair business and having spent 6 years of his time working at 4 local dealerships covering brands including Ford,BMW,Toyota,Jag,Volvo. Boy does he have thousands of service department 'horror stories' to tell.
My advice for many years has been get to know a good mechanic with his own business. It may easier said than done, but you will after a bit of digging and possibly some referrals. From my experience it's the only way to achieve personalized service and get what you asked for done. A good mechanic will always show you what he's replaced (the original part) and explain it in enough detail to satify you, plus by paying more attention to detail very often will be able diagnose hidden faults.
I'm not sure if it applys everywhere but I know for a fact here that the dealers must allow you to choose where your warranty servicing is done and this does not have to be at a dealership, just an accredited mechanic. This situation was brought about by the sheer number of complaints recorded by people who had their warranty servicing carried out by dealerships. This prompted the Fair Trading Dept. to become involved and take action with the manufacturers to change the warranty conditions on all makes.
Just My 2c worth!

HAHA, this was a funny topic. i laughed alot reading it all. im not taking anyones side, but i do think that a dealership is hard to deal with, they really dont care about u or your vehicle, no matter how special it is, or is to u. i do also think that u cant bother them with problems that didnt start to happen yet, even though u know or think they are gonna happen. they have so many vehicles to work on, so many in and out per day, they cant be spending hours on just yours looking for stuff that isnt there. i understand where your coming from. of course u want to be taken care of, we all do, but most dealerships dont care, and the guy who works on your truck, doesnt know u and gets his pay whether u r satisfied or not. so basically "most" guys do just enough to get by, but im not saying every mechanic, some love what they do and want it to come out perfect. when a problem arises, then is the time to bring it in to get checked. and yes, it was a big step to go buy the lighting truck, and now u want something from them back in return when it comes to fixing it, and when u feel ur getting jerked around, anyone would get pissed off. later all Mike. HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!! : )
Well... Well. Maybe I should be silent, but all I can say about dealerships is they are not all created equally and nor does Ford solve its problems with dealers when Identified in writing to them.
Had to find another dealer after dealing with the service manager where my Lightning was delivered (drop shipped). The front end clank and seat support poking through showed up in the first month of ownership. The truck came off the carrier with a scracth on the hood and had to wait one month for it to be painted. Tried to get the seat fixed and the front end fixed through the service department when I took it in for repair of the hood. Well.... I got the deer in the headlights treatment from the service department. However, when I took it to the body shop and talk to the manager there he knew exactly all these problems and he took care of it. Great older guy and a blast to be around.
He and I had met when I went to get my truck and found out the salesmen were out joy riding in it... yes, joy riding. Remember at the begining I stated the truck was dropped shipped to this dealer. ( I am in the military and ordered it before I left my overseas assignment last November). He told me to find another dealer, because these people really knew nothing about the SVT vehicles and to write Ford a letter about the joyriding. Well I did both and went to where he suggested.
Now the dealer he reccomended is great and all the SVT techs and even the service manager talk to me when I have taken it back for some minor stuff. They asked when was I going to chip the truck.... after trying to say I wasn't, they told me not to worry about the mods, they would warranty it. Well. I chipped it and when I went to track and ran,,,,, guess who was there running mustangs ///// the service manager and the lead SVT tech. We had a blast and kicked some butt that night. The service manager asked me if I would start a Lightning Club and he would get the dealership to sponsor it. Not done that yet.
Now the Joyriding... Ford called me... sent me 3 follow up forms. To date they have not done anything or told me what was said or done to the dealership that put 54 miles on my truck before I got it.
So..... Dealer number one stinks, dealer number two is GREAT, and Ford customer complaints departments stinks.
Now I can understand why some people are upset with the lack of equality amongst Ford service departments at dealerships.
Enough said... Hope Yall had a great Thanksgiving Day.

I can see idealism running rampant as we speak.
There are three type's of people in this world:
1: Those who make things happen
2: Those who watch things happen
3: Those who say (What the hell just happened).

Darn it, I didn't make the list either, and I've actually been posting here longer than you, MB. And before that the jsmartin site..after reading your initial post several times, I can't find where the dealer did anything to offend you. But then, I'm sure you treated him just as you do everyone else who disagrees with you. Your reference to writing Steve to voice your concerns with other members proves this.
Here's just a quick observation; Ever since you went public with your illness, you have become quite the little whiner. I would venture to say most of the members here are not too familiar with the crap you and Sky post on the Bowtie website. I just can't decide which of you is more pathetic, you or your girlfriend. If it's not your illness, it's here alcoholic, disfunctional family (thought we forgot about that one, hu?) By the way, I have a list too, and your right there at the top of it..........well, you and about 19,000 democrats from Florida who are just too dumb to vote.

Errrr!
Can one of the old farts jump in for a minute?
While I didn't plan it that way, I have had in my employ at our HobbyTown two gentlemen who happen to have Chrone's disease. (Hope I spelled it right).
One was with us for a year, the other just left after two years. I have become sort of an amateur expert on the symptoms and manifestations of this particular affliction as both an employer and a friend. I will also say that both men also had somewhat disfunctional family and personal life problems above and beyond the affliction.
What I learned was how to deal with MOOD SWINGS and the caps are intentional. Both men originally did not know what was wrong with them. Remember MB's problem with diagnosis? Once past that hurdle, getting proper treatment and medication was extremely difficult for both of them.
Because both were good, loyal and very hard working people, I stuck with them through thick and thin, but it was often a real problem. Many, many times, I had to take them to the stock room and give them something to do there because they were scary as hell with our customers who knew nothing of their problems. One of them even punched out an EMT who happened to be in the store when one of his mood swings got out of hand and he became a little hysterical. The EMT wanted to take him to the hospital and got a nasty black eye for his trouble and I wrenched my back breaking up the fracas. But, the guy was back the next day normal as ever and we got the EMT to return and accept our apology.
Long post, probably none of my business, but I suspect a good deal of MB's ranting and raving, and that is what it is sometimes, may most likely be attributable to both his disease and the treatment he must take for it.
My only advice is the same I gave to my two friends and employees. If you feel the mood coming on, back off and chill out, as if you fight it and try to continue with what you are doing you might get it wrong. Sometimes it meant asking someone to take over the register in the middle of a sale, but it saved a lot of grief.
So, MB, I know where you are coming from, but sometimes you have to take five minutes before posting or replying. Might save a little hide now and then.
Regards,
Bill

My .02: MB, if anyone has a reason to be thankful this time of year, its the guy who's beating Crohn's. I'm an RN, never had the disease, but have witnessed the suffering it brings! BTW, if your cure works you should write it up for the medical journals. Tradition is the cure will be named after you. RE: SVT! Lets face it, the owners manual in the glove box describes the SVT experience, one that entitles the owner to special premiums of ownership that mere Ford owners aren't entitled to! And who provides it? The local Ford dealership NOT! I bought mine from a different dealership from where I go for service only because my guy couldn't get ahold of one when I was able to buy. But having prior experience with my guy's service dept, I know they are honest and reliable, even if they don't always follow the letter of my sometimes **** instructions on how they should repair my vehicle. I know my service manager and like most middle managers, he walks a fine line between maintaining a productive shop for the dealer, surviving scrutiny from Ford every time he submits a warranty claim, and trying to keep customers happy. IE he's just trying to get by like most of us. My point is if any of us want or expect the premium ownership experience that SVT offers we probably need to get on SVT or FMC's case. Pissing off a service guy, no matter how right we are or how wrong they are, will have a predictable result, poor service. Not right, but reality. Sooo, since I haven't been around the site for long, has anyone seen any threads on this (approaching SVT or FMC for poor experiences)? Anyone have any ideas on how to address ALL our concerns in a productive way?

Mswains e-mail this morning
Just thought I'd drop you a quick note since you took the time to respond to me on the f-150 site. I always thought of you as somewhat of a bright guy, but after capturing your girlfriend's name, date of birth, address and her picture from her own web site, I'm sorry, but I must tell you - your not nearly as smart as you think.....You probably figured your pathetic excuse of a threat would be somewhat unsettling to me, but for some reason, I'm just not ready yet to break down and cry....... I guess over twenty years of street experience has taught me a few lessons you have not yet learned. I lost count years ago of how many "tough guys" ran their mouths like WWF wrestlers until they were looking at me through the bars....Just something demoralizing about having your *** kicked and shoved in a cell to put life back into context.....Oh well, make idle boasts ("you'll get yours") all you want, however next time your in California, feel free to drop me a line. By the way, after checking your picture.......well, let's just say -- you ain't all that bud........you best bring some help. Nice chatting with you,
Mark go-ahead-make-my-day Swaim
not cool at all that you would say this about me mswain especially when I don't know you. mike isn't coming here anymore, but i figured i would just post your e-mail that i found in mike's mail box this morning. I'm not coming here either after this. He hasn't seen it yet.. it's kinda messed up that you would threaten someone that was in a wheel chair only a few months ago, and then say he threatened you ... he didn't threaten you.. he said what goes around comes around, and you'll get yours
it means that something bad will happen to you for being the jerk that you are. it doesn't mean mike will make it happen. it's called karma.
oh yeah and nice job telling everyone here that you have our addy, and if something happens to us everyone here will know. real smart mark. I remember when you gave Raymond a hard time, and ray just fed into it. everyone here hated ray after that, and it was mostly you who triggered him to defend himself. Your a jerk mark. Nobody would waste their time to threaten you. we just know from experience that people like you get what they deserve in life because your rude, and mean to others
