Rafa,

Glad to see you finally got your truck back...but the bad news is you're going to need a whole lot more power than an L to outrun one since your truck's about 1,000 lbs. heavier (and the double-dueces don't help matters either).

I am not planning to be faster than Lightnings dude, i know my truck limits because of the weight. I will be happy beating some stock corvettes, mustangs etc...

The reason i started this thread is just because i never saw any Lightning making power like my truck made with 11PSI only. Jim also said that there are 40-50HP left on the table that he had to limit on the tune due to the Factory Tech Total Domination torque converter weakness(slips on heavy load and unlocks).

If you take a look on the graph i think the truck is a serious candidate to make 700RWHP/800RWTQ with a street tune.
Remember that my truck has Aluminum engine, 3Valve fully ported heads, 4.56 gears etc... and i think that's make the difference over the 5.4 2V lightnings.

What do you guys think ? Is 700RWHP doable on a street tune ?
Any comment will be truly appreciated.

Exactly, and that's why a comparison to a 2V L isn't a good 'measure'. It's a given that there is a fair amount of power to be had with a set of 3V heads but I don't think anyone has gotten to the point of saying exactly how much power is in the heads.

The aluminum block is going to give you exactly 0 HP over a similarly prepped iron block. Only difference there is the weight savings.

I'm not ******* you and I think the 3V is a good compromise between the 2V and 4V heads and I'm definitely curious to see how far you're able to take your combo.

"and yes cooling the piston will result in less residual heat meaning lower combustion tempatures, thus giving the oppurtunity to run more compression and timing before detonation occuring.

"We have several blocks out there in the 9.5:1 compression ratio and 1 in testing with the 10:1. With the oil squirtters cooling down the piston and with their unique design of only squirtting the piston when its at bottom dead center."

"Cooler temps means you can add more timing= more power"

Yes the engine does not make more HP over an Iron block out of the box but it gives me conditions to run more boost and more timing resulting in more power.

Thanks.

As those #s are on 11#s boost only, there is a bunch more power left in it. I doubt it will aproach 160 more HP, but I guess it could hit 650 if the base timing so far is conservative.
Hope to see some improved #s as time goes on.
Jim

So are you using the oil squirters or not?

Yes, that's part of the engine package.
