Hi, I am really new around here, I was just curious as to whether or not it is ok to put all of that carb cleaner into the inter cooler, how did you get it all out, just flush it out with water? thanks

Yeah it is safe as long as you have the IC completely out of the truck. We used to saw horses and set it up between them so it was suspended in the air and could drain. We would spray about 3 or 4 cans of carb cleaner through it and then flush with water and repeat until the water coming out was clear and not murky. Then you spray one last can of carb cleaner through it to chase out the water and let it sit and air dry for a while. we installed spark plugs in the time it was drying.

blakdoutL, just so there is no misscommunication. The intercooler has to come off the truck, Like 01SLVRBLT said earlier. The cleaning is only done on the outside, none is sprayed into the tubes where you would normaly have water criculating inside. All you have to do is spray it down and let it dry. Dont spray the carb cleaner on the SC. It will eat the coating off the rotors. Remember, your IC cant function properly with all that oil and junk coated all over it. It's just good maintenance if you hot-rod your truck any. It also makes good sense for the average daily driver with a few miles on it. For more info, use the search feature and key word "intercooler Cleaning".
