Hehe, I think I could stick my whole head in that rear wheel well when the truck was brand new. It rode so harshly compared to my 2001 too. I still feel like my truck isn't that low right now, but looking at the progression of photos, I've definitely come a long way from the original 4x4 look.

Mine is a 03 and it was the same. I can't believe how high they were from the factory.

Mine came like this when I bought it. I know it has Hotchkiss sway bars, Belltech hangers and shock extensions, but I can't tell you what else. It does handle real nice though.

You all US guys are really in a very lucky situation! You can make the most changes at your vehicle without any big problems. In Switzerland it's nearby impossible! I would like to go a few inches down to the ground with my '02 Lightning, but our laws in Switzerland say "NO!!" to such chassis changes. Or you go to the national inspection station and let examine the parts of Bell Tech, Ground Force or all the marvelous parts...
But if they examine the parts, it's not of sure you can insert them. You must pay a lot of money for all this! It's quasi a single acceptance of your car/truck. I could install a airride system, that would be ok with our laws.... Sure for 3-4000.-USD....;-( Stupid world, stupid laws.

I'm jealous at you guys ;-)!

So I will cruise further with my "stock-high-level" L...

Sad greetings

Steve

But we don't get to use a cool little license plate on the front of our trucks like they give you. Nice truck you you have there Steve.........

Yes I do. I don't run a front plate on my California truck, as they don't really bother us here if we don't have one but, in a lot of other states they do, and they make some Lightning owners unhappy about having to put a big plate on the front of their trucks. I feel it ruins the look of the front of the truck with a big license plate on it. I bet a lot of US guys would like the option of useing your front sized plate. MAT2CH.................
