Nice article on 2001.5
AutoWeek Magazine just came out with a report from SEMA. The article is headlined with a photo of a (RED) 2001.5. Excerpts:
"Ford simply dominated the other automakers at the SEMA show...
"One example is the SVT F-150 Lightning. Ford officials say the 2001 Lightning is 'more of everything owners have learned to love.' Indeed, the supercharged 5.4 litre V* gets a 20-horsepower boost (to 380) and torque increased 10 lb-ft to 450. The 2001 rear axle has a shorter gear ratio for better launch, and the zero to 60mph time drops to 5.8 seconds from 6.2 seconds.
"The suspension is largely carryover, though its Billstein shocks have been revised for improved wheel control and better ride.
Exterior changes include new upper and lower front grilles, headlights and taillights. Inside? You'll be delighted to hear there are now not one but two cup holders.
"The 2001 Lightning will start at $32,300."
I guess the only real news is the cup holders. Just thought those in waitning would like to know nice things are being said by the right people.

I hope the 0 to 60MPH in 5.8 seconds really means 5.0 or better! The 99 and 00 L's said 6.2 seconds. Some stock 99 and 00 L's did it in 5.8 or better! Really thinking about a 2001 in black this time. The rims still suck!
