Thanks for the info. One question, do you think you lost any power when the the PSP was reburnt for the "pinging" in 3rd gear problem. Or did you ever have it reburnt? Thanks again!

Thumbs up

Wes,
Thank you very much for the time, money and effort in this! I think this board is a great place because of the transfer of data like this!

Guys,

Glad to share the info here. I've gained a lot from this board myself, so I'm just trying my best to provide unbiased info. I will probably sell the chip(s) I decide not to use. We'll see.

Moses, Lone Star Performance is a big 5.0 Mustang shop in DFW. I believe this chip they did for a friend of mine was just a program they got for being a Superchip (or another chip company's) distributor. They do not do in-house chip programming, I don't believe. I know the owner, so I should probably verify that, but they are 90%+ hardcore 5.0 Mustang people.

Caka, I actually _gained_ a little bit of power on the reburn where timing was pulled. Go back and look at my original post. My original PSP program made 358rwhp SAE-corrected, and this one made 364rwhp. Obviously, Sal didn't pull out much timing...just enough to keep everything happy at full throttle in _all_ gears.

Cool

WA 2,
I've been looking for a chip but haven't been sure which one to invest in. I'd like your personal opinion.

I want the best chip for the "street". I'm not a big time racer but would like the most and SAFEST horsepower for the money. Thanks!

Cool

Just got my chip back from Lonestar Performance. Talked to Brian. Sent copy of dyno run to him to look at and all mods. It is a superchip street/trac. They did a custom program for mods. Street side shift quality is great and perforance is up. Went to track last night and track side performance was up .22 over superchip program. Steve

I just want to say thanks to Wes for the great info.

The Lone Star chip he tested was mine.

And in some small measure of defense to Lone Star, the chip I have is no where near the hottest thing they have. It shifts normally under light throttle and firmly under full throttle. But shifts aside, Brian told me he has several hotter setups. He has done a bunch of setups for local Lightnings and has several different calibrations. Even has one if you want to trailer it and use race gas.

I just wanted the shifts firmed up. The extra power is a bonus.
