4D Thunder:

I watched the video, cool. It sounds like one of you had real bad wheel hop and was bouncing the engine off of the rev limiter at the 1-2 shift. Was that you or the Vette?

That's the Z06 that's bouncing his rev limiter. The way you can tell is that, obviously, the Z06 is a 6 speed and can rev past the programmed limit. The L, with an auto and set to shift at the rev limit, will shift before fuel shutoff. Anyway, being a previous 6 speed F-body owner, I know exactly what that sounds like.

The Z06 runs a 12.XX something or other. A **** poor driver that only knows to hit the gas and go runs 13.xx's. Like it was said earlier, once that Z06 guy learns how to get the power down to the ground, he's easily in the 12's.

Once he did get launched and then into 2'nd he didn't many mistakes but he still just hung on my door handle until the last second or 2 when he began to out accelerate me. I guess what I'm trying to say the launch was mine, we then both accelerated at the same rate until the end where the finish belonged to him. I could see the front end of his car all the way down the track out of the corner of my eye until we neared the end. At that point he was clearly walking away from me.

Damn, now only if they'd lower the price of the Z06, I'd be interested.

I know a guy with a new Z06 and If I were going to buy a new sports car (and could afford one) I would get a vette Z06 in a minute. That damn thing ran 12.03 at 114.70 bone stock. WOW! I love my lightning but it is still a heavy truck and its pretty hard to compare it with a 3100 pound vette with pretty much the same HP. Maybe with juice
otherwise beware of those on the street. If the driver sucks you might come close. If he knows what he's doing. Well, don't say no one warned ya.
